Power outages from last week’s storms and a record-breaking heat wave have created a deadly combination. Ran into a line crew up from Dallas yesterday afternoon. They took the assignment to Ohio thinking they were going to get a break from the Texas heat. They weren’t too happy (but still making a mint in overtime.)

It only got down to 79 here overnight so I was only able to get my house cooled down to 80 before the temp started going up and I had to close all the windows and shut off the roof fan.

Its 85 in the livingroom now but I tell you what, with a metal bucket full of ice/salt in front of the fan it feels fine.

The record high for this day is 81, set back in 1963. Looks like we almost topped it!
