It seemed like Mojitos were pretty hot last summer.
What sort of drinks are people craving for this year's patio season?

I might be super uncool and oh soooooo last season, but I'm still really into mojitos when it is hot. I prefer the standard variety to the flavored ones and I like lots of mint in them all smashed up so that I suck it up through the straw. So far the ones at the Rossi are superior.
Damn.
Now I want one.
Thanks a lot Walker.

And also,
I'll have what Merc is having.
I love Caipirinhas and I've never had a bee-balm julep, but I am intrigued.

I've met few cocktails I didn't like.
I shall google the contents of a Sazerac and let you know what I think.
Oh...I also found a blurb in a magazine stating that orange soda mixed with that bitter bug spray stuff (name is escaping me) that you made me sample that night is pretty tasty. I'd be willing to try it again mixed in there. It could be yummz.

I've been drinking Busch lately, I'm digging that. Hi-Life is great summer drink. A pitcher of ice-water is good too after digging holes and cutting grass.

Thrilled that sazeracs are becoming more popular! One of my favorite drinks.
Two other summertime favorites: the Dark and Stormy (2 oz Black Seal rum, fill rest of glass with ginger beer, squeeze in some lime and drink), and the Deep Six (glass filled with crushed ice, add 2 oz Pusser's rum, 1/2 oz simple syrup, 1 tbsp lime juice, and float a bit of champagne across the top).

Lemon Pom-Poms
1 part Lemon Zinger Iced Tea (always good to have in the fridge)
1 part pom wonderful (I like regular flavor)
1 part vodka (cheap stuff is OK, no need to waste the belvedere on a mixed drink)
Garnish with slice o'lemon
It's a great pitcher drink!

Joey's Chelada:
Pint glass with salted rim, filled with ice and a half lime's worth of lime juice.
Pour Negra Modelo or Dos Equis amber over ice and lime juice.
Enjoy and place icy cool glass against forhead for ultimate cool down.
Dark and Stormy:
Pint glass filled with ice, lime wedge garnish.
Half Ginger Beer (think root beer, not beer beer - available in four packs at Europia)
Half high quality dark rum (Goslings Black Seal)
Enjoy.
Ale-8 & Bourbon Slushie:
Boil six pack of Ale-8 until reduced by half (15-20 min)
Cool and then add 1oz of Kentucky bourbon for every bottle of Ale-8
Freeze mixture in ice cube tray then blend for slushie goodness.
MMM.
Enjoy.

Oh, don't get me wrong. I like mojitos too. I'd be down for drinking them all summer long myself... I just wasn't sure if other people were still drinking them this year or everyone else had moved on to something else. ;)

I would like to experiment with spiking iced tea. For me there is nothing better on a hot day so I'd like to figure out a way to get drunk while drinking it.
Oooooh, I forgot about that Campari recipe you read, that DID sound good. We'll need to make those ASAP!

Well if everyone else moved on, we can still have our mojito love. They are just too good to give up.

i think i'm the only person who doesn't like mojitos
i'm not a huge fan of malt beverages but mike's hard iced tea, tastes exactly like sweet tea, no carbonation. i love it.
umm nevermind. i don't think they make it anymore.
why don't you just mix citron with your iced tea? that might be good

No shit. I started salivating while reading that. I think that me, that recipe, and my back deck might be great friends this summer.
