what do you want to eat?
oh it doesn't matter i don't think. i'm more worried about being out with a 2 year old!
i think location and kid friendly is more important
most places will accomodate you. You could go to Mitchell's steakhouse and a child would be fine on a Tuesday. it depends if you want to walk to the theatre after the meal(eating downtown) or travel(eating in short north or german village)
the spaghetti warehouse is nearby and prolly the most kid friendly in the downtown area.

You can also do the German Village Max & Erma's. I've taken my neice and nephews there. Olde Mohawk is OK for the munchkins too. Or Schmidts.
No restaurant is a poor choice to if you have a well-behaved child.
i'm not sure, i've only been around the child at his house so i don't know how he'd be out.
he's so cute though i'm sure he'll be fine. hopefully :)
they are coming from dayton so i have to pick the restaurant. thanks for the suggestions!
We really enjoy bono togo in the park if you're willing to hike a few blocks.

+1
Unfortunately mood swings can play a big factor for behavior in a two year old on a day to day (or hour to hour) basis. Hopefully he's good. :D
One other thing we've noticed in dining out with a child is that places with high barstool-style seating can be tricky with a small child. Most places will have a variety of seating available, but if it's a busy night, you might have to wait for a booth at a place like Tip Top.
Have fun! :D

Good proximity to the theater, but not family friendly.
What makes those places not family friendly? I have seen kids at Tip-Top on more than one occasion and the Elevator is pretty laid back so I can't see what the problem would be with a kid there either. If you're kid is going to throw rolls at me I would rather him not be in the restaurant. If you have to wear a jacket it's probably not kid friendly, besides that I don't see the point really. I am assuming someone taking the time to ask what restaurants are family friendly has a kid that doesn't throw rolls.

I'd say all four of those places are fine. Hell, Latitude 41 has a kids menu. Others should be more than willing to make kitchen accommodations. We've taken our kiddo to Tip Top plenty of times, and it seems like most of the folks working there enjoy seeing a child in attendance.
Most people with kids try to eat early as to not be a nuisance during the standard dinner crowd. But that doesn't mean that you have to resign yourself to Chuck E Cheese and McDonald's.
Just because you don't see a lot of children eating at restaurants in/around downtown doesn't mean they are not welcome there.
I think the adult patrons at Tip Top are more likely to throw rolls than the kids.

Yeah, I was gonna say..
The staff at Tip Top is pretty accommodating to children of all ages...
I think if you are taking a kid to Lion King, they are probably pretty good. Have a fun evening!
My pick out of all of those would probably be a booth at TipTop.
thanks guys! i'm so excited we got really good seats too!

not open on tuesday
San Fransico Pizza oven is literally right there. And they have pizza which all kids love.

-- just what I was thinking - unfortunately, with a two year old, mood tends to be all over the place...
Still, we've taken ours to Latitude 41 and Tip Top before, and both worked out fine. Latitude 41's kids menu has some stuff that's a nice change from the typical chicken nuggets, mac & cheese and pizza fare.
