YouTubeHi, new to the website but found it very helpful so far! I am in a bit of a jam. My family and I live in the Grove City pinnicle area and our lease is up at the end of May. We have been looking everywhere for a rental home (instead of a condo that we live in now) in the Hilliard/Grove City/Upper Arlington area that is A. in a safe neighborhood and B. reasonably priced. We have even gone as far as to drive around the neighborhoods calling the houses for sale and asking each agent if the owners would be willing to rent. I am a surgery resident and we only have 2 more years left in Columbus after June so we dont want to purchase a house because we don't know where we will be after that. If ANYONE can help us find a 3 bedroom, 2 bath home preferably with only a small yard, that you would like to rent to a dependable family, please let me know. Thank you in advance!

Have you tried craigslist?
There are single family homes listed there under the apts/housing heading. Search for the neighborhood and add home to the search (ie search for: Arlington home) - that'll eliminate most of the apartments and show most (but not all) of the single families. You can also narrow the list down by specifying number of bedrooms and the maximum rent. Arlington is going to be more expensive than Grove City or Hilliard generally.

Have you checked out the rentals section in the Sunday Dispatch? I found absolutely nothing there for what I want (2br townhome w/ fenced yard) but there were a lot of 3-4 br rentals in Hilliard/Grove City. (Not so much for Upper Arlington, though...) Good luck!

Cardiff: We've looked through those houses as well, saw a couple that were of interest, but then we looked the addresses up on the national sex offender website (US Watchdog) and there were offenders a little too close for comfort. Thanks for the tip though.

I'm not sure where you are doing your residency but I'm going to go ahead assume OSU since it is the center of the universe. I've had luck with http://offcampus.osu.edu/ and found my apartment in Harrison West that I have been living in for the past three years. There are sometimes listings in there that may not be anywhere else. It's a crapshoot sometimes but the listings are always changing.

There is a house that is for sale by owner on my street in Beechwold/Sharon Heights (way north Clintonville). I contacted them about renting and they were open to it. $1050/month
