we'll get a break in the action for a little while.
More to come, though. Keep the weather radios on tonight. After 2am it could get pretty bad unless I miss my guess.

There were two monstrous lightning strikes in my neighborhood, so loud that they even got my two dogs going, who are usually not fazed by storms.
I've still got standing water around my porch. The ground must be saturated.

Today I had an easier time than yesterday, relatively speaking. Rain started just as I hit Broad & High and I ran down Broad to the next bus stop, which has a shelter. I decided to wait it out because I simply did not want to risk my laptop getting wet (I have a nice safe bag to carry it in, but I didn't wanna take chances). Passed on the first bus and by the time the second bus came the rain let up enough that I was willing to walk in it once I got off the bus. Still, being out in it both yesterday and today was more than a little scary.

Between the lightning and my cat's reaction to it, there wasn't much sleeping in this morning. The thunder actually rattled the bed!

party until 3:30 AM, yet couldn't resist getting up and watching the storm. Thunder wasn't as gruesome as yesterdays, but nice rain. I don't think I've had to water the garden yet this season. whoopee!!!

yeah. I had directed my downspouts into my corn to amplify the rain... This week I redirected it back into the yard so the corn doesn't DROWN.

What kind of corn did you plant, hybrid?

Just fairly fast growing yellow sweet corn. I planted a little later then I really wanted to, so I planted a faster growing sort. I would have to go find the seed packet for the specifics. It's growing like crazy today. I left the house this morning at 7 and came back in the afternoon and noticed it had grown while I was out! All my vegies are growing like crazy and that makes me very happy.
then again I had a wonderful dinner with friends tonight and I'm just happy and tipsy in general. :)
