I really dig these, and it is a great intro to optics how these are the source streetview images more or less. There was a similar project in 2007 called "little planets" where someone presumably used the same sort of 270 degree lens.

too much fun! when this was first announced, i think they had some buggy shader code, or maybe my chrome has updated since, but it works now (so note that some browsers might have issues with the site) but too too cool, heh!
Yeah, I'm really digging the interactivity of the site. You can drag the pointer around on the map and the image re-renders in real time. ;) Fun stuff.
Tall buildings work best, but skywalks are fun. Anything with some height above the camera looks very cool.
