Walker-- I didn't know that there was a non-news side-forum-- god. Take this off and I'll retry over there.

OK, thinking back...over the years...
1. Bev D'Angelo when I was YOUNG. She actually went to my high school, attends reunions, and is in the 4th of July Parade in UA almost every year. Last time I saw her, about 8 years ago, I hit on her...and failed miserably.
2. Pretty much every actor in the movie Teachers, including Ralph Macchio, Judd Nelson, Nick Nolte, Morgan Freeman, Laura Dern, etc. as it was filmed at Central High and I was an extra. Nick Nolte talked the most to me one day, not like a fan, and was WAY less strange than he is now.
3. Jodie Foster. Met her at Refectory, she sat at a table next to me and a girlfriend when she was filming that movie at the Wexner. She talks weird.
4. Clapton. See another post for this. I acted like a giggly schoolgirl.
5. Jon Steward. Few years ago when he was in town, had a friend who worked at an uber hotel and found out where he was headed, met him and his crew at Trattoria Roma. He was incredibly congenial and smart and short.

Hey skreened-- I screwed up, huh? Misspelled Bralia (what the hell?) and put this as news. Didn't know there was a forum other than the front page.

Alright, before it gets ripped from news, I'll share one:
Hal Sparks: Not a big celeb, but I remember him from Queer as Folk. He was talking on the cell phone in CMH, and I immediately recognized him next to me, we talked, took the same plane to Cincy before changing planes.

I'm not really sure what you're talking about. This isn't on the front page. :?

Um sometimes the context of *where* is not so important, but in Columbus I have met:
Fritz the Night Owl, Ving Rhames, Mark Hamill, D.B. Sweeney, Steve Zahn, Kristen Stewart, Elizabeth Perkins, John Cooper, Kevin Smith, John Glenn and a lot of people I consider famous that most people would not (people outside of the generally paparazzi-laden industries)

Years ago, I was shopping around in City Center (when it actually had shops) and bumped into the future governator of California Arnold at Structure. He was really nice but his bodyguards were dicks. On another, less celebrity note, I got to meet Mayor Coleman coming out of the Democratic HQ yesterday. I said Hi, introduced myself, and we had a nice 15min chat before he had to split. Seems like a stand up guy :)

Political....Ted Strickland, Dick Celeste, Mayor Coleman, Buck Rhinehart---visitors at my day job...not at the same time

I saw Tara Reid at Long's Book Store buying OSU gear. I was shopping for a hat and looked at the girl standing next to me and said to myself "boy, that girl looks like a skanky version of Tara Reid". Low and behold, it was really Tara Reid.

Enzo: Probably Chapelle, as he's from Yellow Springs and still has a house there ;)
I totally forgot about Arnold, met him the first or second year of the Arnold Classic. Was dating the daughter of the owner of Stanley Steemer, who was a big contributor to the deal and Arnold was actually at their house when I went to pick up Kari having dinner.
Also met Neil Diamond, forgot about that one. Was going with the Schottenstein's nephew to his concert that night, and went to pick up the tickets at the mansion...and he was there hanging out. He was a real tool, with a skankified girlfriend in her 20's.

Good Charlotte on High St. my freshman year at OSU, they saw me and some friends coming down the street and went the other way.
Friday, while eating lunch at Northstar, saw the Subhumans. They were on their way to Pittsburg for a show.

Any pics of these meet ups?
As far as local celeb, you can't forget Jack Hanna. Interesting seeing the variety of celebs sighted in town.

Andrea Cambern at Marcella's

The Wexner Center brings in the best and nicest notables. Issey Miyake (darling and brilliant and dear), Gerhard Richter (too German for words), Marty Scorsese (funny glasses, funny talker). I'm not going to say anything negative about Zaha Hadid, but if you see her, run fast in the opposite direction.
Nicest of all is William Wegman, who was in town this week for the opening of his retrospective. He's accessible, fun and engaging. He bounced around town being friendly and even visited city hall.
I'm not listing rock stars. They get enough ink.

I have sat next to Andrea Cambern for a OSU football season. One week she made me and my dad some cookies. I have seen Jack Hanna and Sherrod Brown. I have seen a bunch of famous football players like James Lurintis at BD's Mongolian Grille in the Arena District and met John Cooper at the Krogers at NW Blvd. and Chambers.
