Has anyone heard of pedicabs available for hourly/daily rental? I could see liability issues being an impediment (pun?), but as a somewhat able bodied peddler, I would love to haul my family around myself sometime...

Yes they are available to rent. Weddings often rent them for a few hours. I'd charge $50-$60 an hour depending on the day. unless you buy your own cab for family uses. Columbus's phantom 13th pedicab is used for this.
