10tv.com wrote A woman said she was robbed at gunpoint Monday morning as she was opening her north side business.

A man forced his way into the back door of Spring Cleaners, located at 875 North Fourth St., at about 5:45 a.m., 10TV’s Patrick Bell reported.

“I walked in the door and turned on the overhead light so I could turn off the alarm,” said store owner Dorothy Gall. “When I turned to lock the back door, he pushed right in and had a gun right in my face.”

Gall said she opened her business 13 years ago and this was the first time she was robbed.

so much for the “up and coming” status of the neighborhood.

This kind of thing can happen anywhere. It hardly reflects on the neighborhood status. Grandview area had two armed robberies in a week last month. The short north has crime too.

One incident does not change the status of a place. Now, if this becomes a daily problem that’s another story. So far that is not the case.

    Thank you.

I ran a business in that neighborhood for about a decade and frankly loved the area.

A friend from college told me the cleaners he regularly uses got robbed too. Maybe it’s a trend, but this economy sucks. Crime will go up.
