Does anyone know of a great location such as a state park, park, preserve, reserve, other outdoor area (maybe west of the city), or even a high rise building that has a flat, clear view of a sunset? I know that west of Columbus is pretty flat, but I'm not aware of that "perfect" spot if such exists. (I'd prefer not to have to trespass or get run off someone's private property; I like to keep it legal.)

Hoover Dam in Westerville has several spots.
Smith Brothers Hardware building lends for a great sunset view.

I think any tall building that faces west would be a good spot.
Last summer when the OSU library reopened and we went and checked it out, I remember I saw a nice sunset from one of the 2nd or 3rd floor study areas in the back.
I live on the far, far west side (New Rome/Galloway area) and we frequently get beautiful sunset views. Darby Creek Metropark, perhaps?

Try the parks along the Scioto, even all the way north up to Rt. 42 in Delawarre County. The sunset light reflecting off the rippling water is a bonus.

42 is a nice viewing area in Delaware County. Another spot I personally like is Troy Road / Hills-Miller Road just outside of Delaware, OH. It is right beside the train tracks and has a nice area to pull over.

Scioto Audubon park has a water tower with platform you can climb up to and it's open til 10, I believe. It's got a great shot of glowing downtown buildings at sunset as well.
