I am no rookie to getting sponsorships however in almost every case previously I had an event where large amounts of promotion has been done and also a public event where the sponsors could have visibility. In these cases the promotion and visibility to the companies demographic was more than enough to warrant a relationship.
Now I have a need for sponsorship that is very different. I have been asked by the YWCA to work with the Underprivileged Youth After School Program. This work will include some lectures and hands on work with the kids. However the bigger focus is A mural within the YWCA that will involve these kids directly and will remain in the teen center. This will prove to give the kids a sense of home at the center and also a connection with the artwork and a sense of accomplishment. I really want this to work out perfect and there is no way my pockets are deep enough to provide all the needs to make it happen flawless.
Does anyone have a suggestion on organizations or individuals locally that would have an interest in this type of project that I could contact to further discuss a sponsorship of this kind?. Or possibly even someone on the boards that may be interested in assisting this process?.
Any advice is great advice at this point!!
