I've been getting lunch at Spinelli's for the past few months now, and I've never been disappointed with the food. What do you guys think about the place?
Other than the sometimes long waits and flustered kitchen staff, this place is pretty great. And a short bike ride away from home.

The owners are great guys, very community minded and super supportive of all that goes on in the SN...the staff is kooky and cool, the food is also good, though super fatty and greasy... I would love for more healthy options that are not limited to salad.

I just wanted to give a shout out to Spinelli's for being awesome and giving great customer service. I won a gift card here a while back. I used it once then filed it in the heap of mess that is my wallet and forgot it until recently. It has no expiration so I checked the balance and went to use it for some din din about a month ago. No dice. Card wouldn't work. Staff thought it was some kinda problem in their system. I didn't want to cause a fuss and they were crowded, so I just paid. No biggie at all.
So I went back Monday night. Again the card wouldn't work...had a nearly 14 dollar balance, but wouldn't go. Staff thought it was because they switched the kind of gift card, but nobody knew how to make it work.
So I hopped online yesterday and found a contact for the owner Joe and just asked if it would be possible to get my balance switched to one of their new cards and how I'd go about doing that. Joe emailed me back immediately saying that he'd like to mail me a new gift card and for 20 bucks just for my "trouble" which wasn't really much trouble at all! :)
I just wanted to remind everyone how much these guys rock. That's all. :)

These guys DO rock. Joe is an awesome supporter of the westside neighborhoods as well as the neighborhoods around his deli. He comps us coffee for our Westgate Mugs N Muffins once a week (a group started because we have no stinking coffee shop).
And - I was recently in, and their salad selections are excellent. Lots of low-calorie salad dressing options too, which can be hard to find in "faster" food.
The sammiches, as always, are killer.

One time a friend asked for "cream cheese on the side" and received cream cheese on the side of the bagel. I thought that was a nice personal touch.

I've eaten here a lot over the past three years since it's a two minute walk from my house. IMO, the bagels are the best part of this place. They bake them fresh every morning and there are 14 or so varieties. They provide Crimson Cup coffee in several varieties and it does the trick. Their iced tea is fantastic! I usually stick to breakfast when I'm there. They expanded their hours and menu to include dinner time in the past 6 months but I haven't had a lot of that. I've tried the salads and several sandwiches and they were okay. I stick to Cafe Corner if I want a sandwich. The pancakes, hash browns, and breakfast sandwiches always hit the spot. The only downside is they can't do egg whites since they prep all their eggs ahead of time. The staff is super nice and they have great customer service.

We can do egg whites :-) We make our breakfast sandwiches with cracked eggs so all you have to do is ask the staff for egg whites only. Now that you mention it, I will make sure there is a button on our register that is for egg whites only - just give me a few days to program it :-)

I have always loved Spinelli's also, and go there to get my breakfast bagel sandwich, but it used to be UNBELIEVABLY slow and the owners must have done something to speed up the time of getting your food as the wait time seems to have gone down considerably.... much better, and faster than Einstein IMO.
