i was at Donato's on Demorest getting a pizza when the shit hit the fan that night.
there was some serious sounding stuff being shot, too.
poor kid working there was freaking out.
Well, at least it didn't translate into people shooting each other. But yeah, otherwise it makes me glad to have moved from there.
BTW, where in Hilltop was this? I was north of Broad which was typically MUCH quieter and safer than south. And the area around Sullivant, forget it.
it sounded like most of it was coming from wedgewood
but i heard gunshots real close to me as well.
Wedgewood's a sh*thole. They need to bulldoze all of it.
We had quite about on the South End too. Not nearly that much, but pretty consistent.
It should probably freak me out more than it does. I've had neighbors who would do this shit instead of shooting off illegal fireworks. The difference now is that I would call the cops and give an address.
On a side note, I have heard Columbus is close to acquiring an acoustical gunshot triangulation system.
Where on the Hilltop was that filmed? I'm in the Eakin/Hague area and it was a lot saner than that!

Unfortunately, it's going to be really hard to triangulate the level of gunfire in this video. Hopefully those nimrods were shooting into phone books.
I live on North Hilltop and there was still a lot of gunfire It’s been like that since I can remember so 20 years?. However, you could hear the gunfire from South Hilltop and Franklinton quite clearly, it sounded like war. You know it is bad when people make a game out of it and try to guess the guns they here firing. I heard one fully automatic assault rifle, a few shotguns, and the ton of handgun shots. But from what I read in the paper we had less bullets fly stray through people’s houses then the East Side did.
This was the first time in years I can remember feeling a little jittery about the sheer number of shots being fired. And some of these fools went waaay past midnight. One idiot dedcided to let loose a couple every hour on the hour till 8:00 in the friggin morning!!! I couldn't believe it!
That is insane! I read on the Franklin Park Block Watch page that is was pretty crazy here too. I get the hell out of the hood for NYE.
There was gunfire on the East Side too.
there was definitely more gunfire this NYE in north Linden than I've ever heard. sounds like a firearm was a popular christmas gift this year.
*G* so much for Obama taking away everyone's guns, remember all that?
"unbelievable" "gunfire" and "hilltop"
you're only allowed two of these three in any sentence.
this woman took a stray bullet

We had very little gunfire in WP, FWIW. It's an odd metric to gauge neighborhood change, but it's clearly indicative of something.
Sounds like an Afghan wedding party was taking place on the hilltop.
Maybe Columbus will get one of these to track the offenders:
