Bonefish Grill in Dublin will be serving Maryland soft-shell crab with lump crab cake and a lemon caper sauce for about $18 while its supplies last. Soft-shell-crab season varies by region, but usually is from May to midsummer.

Banana Bean softshell is no longer an option after their departure from the Columbus dining scene. As we are coming into softshell season, I'm curious if they have been spotted on some of the local menus. Thanks in advance!

Thanks, Merc! You seem to be plugged into the local social media really well. If you hear of any more locations, especially those offering sandwiches, I would appreciate it.

That reminds me. I need to call the Fish Guys in the N.M. tomorrow. Sometimes they will make them when they have an abundance.

You can search twitter via miles from a location of a tweet too. Just search "soft shell" in Columbus on Twitter and it should give you what you want.

If you feel like DIY this weekend, Giant Eagle has a seafood sale. Primes are 2 for $5, and make great little sandwiches. I picked mine up at the Neil Ave location, but you should call your nearest store about availability before you head out.

I made two sandwiches yesterday on kaiser rolls, with LTO, some provolone and creole mayo.
They were really good.

Maybe I missed something. Why are we looking for softshell crabs in Ohio? I think you'd do better to pile a bunch of folks into a Prius and drive to the Eastern Shore. When plans firm up. let me know and I'll tell you a couple of good restaurant options. And trust me, they won't give you a bill like G Michael. (Yeah, it will more than compensate for the gas).

Because it's not really that hard to find fresh quickly-transported seafood in Ohio. Though the cost is a little higher.
