I have social mishaps almost weekly...they are usually relized on Saturday mornings when I wake up feeling more dehydrated than a peice of beef jerky looking, blurrily, though barely opened, crusty eyes at a clock that reads 11:48am and thinking to myself "Oh my god, I can't beleive I did that last night!"

How upsetting!
I hope the dolt apologized profusely.

Hmmmm.... everytime I have seen you out, you appear to be a chaperone of sorts....the one who is ultra serious and under control. Must be some killer afterhours!!! Crusty eyes are gross. That is horrible dehydration because the bartenders are so stingy with TAP WATER

never had a problem...

They charge $1 or they give you the dirtiest looks and snarls even after you buy a round costing nearly $60 dollars. Some places refuse to serve tap water and you must buy bottled unless you say you are having a health situation and require immediate hydration--dramatic request.

that tells you you are at a bar not with the right "fit" for you.

what bars don't serve tap water? never had a problem...
I had a serious problem with this exact issue at Patio a couple weeks ago. My friend kept ordering water, and they kept giving her a bottle and charging $3 for it. About the 3rd time this happened I asked if we could just have a cup of tap water. The bartender's response was "we don't do that."
Towards the end of the night, after my friend had spent almost as much on water as others had on alcohol, she ordered a water and they finally gave her a cup of water saying "this one is on us."
They were incredibly rude and condecending about the whole thing, the experience turned me off so much that I'm going to think carefully about frequenting the bar in the future.

It depends whether I'm involved with an event or simply a patron. If I have no responsibility, I tend to get significantly more unruley. Really, I tend to carry myself pretty well for the most part. The majority of my comedy occurs during that 1-2am power hour.
If I'm running the event I'm usually kinda edgy, waiting for the next thing to go wrong. I just try to be 5 steps ahead of everyone. Some call me a pain in the neck others say I'm neurotic...I just want to produce organized, smooth flowing events of the highest quality possible.
I know this all sounds mildly obsessive-compulsive but I don't care.

Yes, agreed. I will not name name of the place that charges for tap water and the others that make you buy bottled--they know who they are :x . I would not dream of not tipping having been a server. Maybe it is because I buy drinks take them to my friends and go back for H20 because I cannot carry everything at once and they forget that I just bought and tipped or who knows????

I'll treat you like my server

I've only ever had that problem in a few places, and thankfully those are in the vast minority of bars in Columbus. Quite a few places will even give out Diet Cokes for free (typically I need some caffiene at the end of the night).

So mildly obsessive compulsive is good...

Just a tip:
Plan ahead, drink a glass of water before you leave to go out for the night and then keep a bottle of water in the car to drink right after leaving the bar. This should keep you hydrated, plus if your one of those annoying girls who carries a purse the size of a suitcase out to the bar, put a bottle of water in your purse. If your a guy, sorry no idea on how to work that one...
You could also fill the glass you just had a drink in with tap water in the bathroom if your in a real pinch.
The annoying purse comment is because I hate being in a crowded bar and having to get by and someone's huge fake purse is taking up the space of another person.

I like my water brewed with yeast, barley and hops.

Is that a bottle of water in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?

No big bags for me----and seriously, why why why do they carry such big bags out???? I have large bag I carry during the week with my lunch and gym clothes, but I WOULD NEVER CARRY the item out on weekends....less is more. Security blanket of sorts perhaps?

See this to me is ridiculous.....now had they been SERVICE oriented, you would have had a more positive experience to share and would go back again and again and take more friends.
