Whoo hoo.

I discovered last winter that being inside a vehicle that is sliding in the snow/ice *CAN* be fun as long as it's a bus. ;)

its a freakin' blast if you're doing it intentionally in any vehicle!
Back in the days before front wheel drive became the standard, all of us who had small cars pretty much HAD to drive sideways to get anywhere.
(rear wheels provide thrust and the front wheels were used to modify the vector of thrust to the correct direction of travel... equilibrium was usually about a 20-30 degree deviation from the bearing of the car, in effect driving sideways.)
I kinda miss those days. Donuts, bootleg reverses, and such were way easier too, since all you had to do was hit the clutch to either slide/not-slide the rear wheels, now you gotta use the e-brake. *blah*
Coming down pretty good on lane ave.
The Subaru drivetrains are a blast on the snow. You can easily induce a 4-wheel drift. It can be the quickest way to turn the car around.
