Had the exact same issue with mine which I bought new in 2010. Fired it once last season to make sure it ran, put it away & forgot about it. Oops. After a thorough de-gumming with carburetor cleaner, some fresh fuel & a new spark plug, the beast fired.

Man, today's gas goes bad way more quickly than gas from even 5 years ago. You pretty much gotta put fuel stabilizer or in anything that sits for over 2 months these days.

No doubt. What really sucks is the fact that there was a full bottle of StaBil on a shelf right next to the snow blower. An unused bottle.....

We had an interesting drive from Punderson State Park in Warren back to Columbus this morning / afternoon. Manatee, it was breathtaking beautiful there, and it was tempting to stay another day, but I missed my cat. Conditions were near white-out at times, particularly around Mansfield, but it was passable as long as you paid attention, kept a decent distance between cars, and didn't try to go above 40mph. That being said, between there and here, there were 20 disabled vehicles (almost none had worse than a missing bumper).
If you have to drive, don't be an idiot about it.

Roads got real bad at the Franklin County border. Semis were very annoying as well...jockeying for first place it seemed. Got home, got snow blower and glad to have the day off. I hope this is cleared up tomorrow...

Also, when someone is pushing you out of a spot of ice / snow you got yourself stuck in, please keep your wheels straight and tap, do not mash, the accelerator pedal. Makes it much easier to rock your car out of the stuck spot.

I have to say, I'm a bit confused. I live in Grandview and my street has not seen a plow yet today. I realize that sounds like I'm a bit spoiled to complain about such a thing, but, in my four years here I have never seen the streets neglected during a snowstorm. In fact, you can usually tell exactly where the city limits end because the streets are dry until you hit the Columbus border. Any Grandview-ites noticing the same thing?
