SKYBUS TO CHATTANOOGA

I want to let all of ya'll know that if you're planning on taking a leisure Skybus trip, try Chattanooga, stay downtown. You will be very surprised. I'm from TN and I can tell you it's truly a destination. From downtown, you can strap on your backpack and go hiking in the mountains, rock climbing on the base of the world's longest pedestrian bridge, attend the incredible Hunter Museum of Art, dine in Bluff View Arts District, walk across to the North Shore (Short North) and see a show at the Chattanooga Theatre Company and hang out at the hippie coffee shops, go to the TN Aquarium, and take the free electric shuttle everywhere. The Chattanooga Lookouts' downtown baseball stadium is phenonmenal, they have a Warehouse Row Historic Outlet Mall (in Warehouses), great BBQ-- it's just a great city to visit. Damn, I should work for their C of C?
I used to be a city planner there and as a planner type, I can promise that you'll love your weekend trip. I can't wait to go back for 10 bucks.There's a lot more too so Check out the video at:

I love Chattanooga! I had a friend from college who lived at the top of Signal Mountain (I think that's what it was...) and on the way up the huge hill we passed a house that was in the shape of a space ship!
I had my first Skybus experience this weekend. I flew to Richmond to visit my younger brother at U of R. I have to say I was pretty impressed. I didn't expect much, but it was a comfortable, effecient trip. The only thing I really didn't love was the departure time: 6:30am out, 8am back. I'm NO morning person!

Anne & I are thining about taking a trip next summer there. We also want to hit up Milwaukee with the cheap tickets there. I've heard good things about both of those cities.
The only problem is that Skybus is only selling tickets to each through early March. Chatanooga is less of a problem, but I sure don't want to be walking around in Milwaukee in January or February! :oops:

I made a stop in Chattanooga a few years ago and was surprised by how active the downtown was. There was a some interesting architecture there and like most places in the South, friendly people. I would also encourage anyone to go to Greensboro, NC (my hometown) if you can get a cheap flight on Skybus. It's equally entertaining and has a far more vibrant downtown than what we are used to here in Columbus.

I took a weekend trip to Chattanooga about 9 years ago. Even then, I was blown away by how nice a place it was. I really like their aquarium. I can only imagine what it's like today.

I visited Chattanooga back in June (before Skybus, suckers) and had a great time. Downtown is pretty cool, and I ate at a great restaurant along the river (can't remember the name). Also, it's just in a beautiful area. Everyone was incredibly nice, as well.
