Not sure about the registration process but could you possibly set it up where there is a confirmation code sent via email when you register that needs to be either clicked or manually entered on the site? Would avoid a bunch of the bots that spam the boards.

Yeah, I've looked at one of these, but haven't gotten around to installling it yet. Will probably do it soon. :D

Make the "remain logged in" box default with it checked.

Once you check it, you shouldn't have to keep logging back in. Is something messed up with your cookies? Are you constantly having to log in?
Because once I log in, that's it. I never have to relog in... the cookie should be good for up to a year of inactivity without needing to re-log in.

I clear history/cookies/temp.net files daily, since you know...I'm at work.

Then what's the point of checking the box? All that does is give you a cookie to stay logged in. And if you're deleting them anyway, it's a waste of time for you to check it...
I think most people who post during the day are at work...

The point of checking the box is to remain logged in on my various visits to this site during the day.
I've confused myself now maybe, but I don't care really.

So wait... the problem is that the box is not checked by default... so you have to check the box on your first visit? And that takes how long for you to do? A half second to click the box?
I'm not a programmer. I didn't write the software that runs this site... it would take me a little while to figure out where to get that box checked by deault to save you that half-of-a-second to check the box when you log in.
That, or just quit deleting your cookies.
Anyway, I'll look into it when I get some free time. I've been working on plenty of new features and I'd have to say the check box would be pretty far down on the list, as I think you're the only person in this unique situation making this request.
