Checked out some of the food here after enjoying the drinks on a previous occasion and was very impressed. The shrimp and garlic, sauteed octopus, parmesan scallop and cebiche were all very well seasoned and presented. The empanadas were delicious, etc and so on. I love this place.

I'm pumped about trying it. I'm too lazy to check - sorry - but are they part of Dine Originals?

I'm not sure if they would qualify as locally owned an operated as they are part of a Dayton based group. http://www.dineoriginalscolumbus.com/join-us/

Went last Saturday, service is great, cocktails are tasty and wonderfully presented. The housemade pita and cilantro "hummus" is a very nice touch. The food is also very tasty and very well presented. I truly wasn't amazed by the food, but it was my first trip, so I'll be sure to give them another try.

Stopped by for drinks with a friend last night at Sidebar. They were closed and there is a sign on the door that basically says the city has shut them down for tax delinquency. Will be interesting to see if they reopen.

wow..

The original one in Dayton is closed down permanently.

although supposedly reopening "somewhere else"....

FYI... I got an email on Friday saying that they were reopening that day at 4pm. So they should have been open all weekend.

Here's an article with a little more info on the reopening:

I was there on Friday the 12th... I guess they lost most of their staff and just about everybody there was new except the bartender, who I happened to know. I had some pricey drink in a copper cup. Didn't try the food. decent crowd for 10:30.

New Happy Hour Menu Debuts at Sidebar 122
Published on March 26, 2013 2:00 pm
By: Ayana Wilson
Happy Hour means different things to different people. For some, it’s a time to grab a much-needed drink at the end of the day before heading home to family and the responsibilities there; for others, it’s the only way to kick start a party. For the folks at Sidebar 122, Happy Hour is a time to eat, relax, and laugh – a lot.
Sidebar 122 is billed as a Latin American-infused, Mediterranean restaurant which offers hand-crafted libations in the speakeasy style of the roaring 20s. So when they create a menu, it’s sure to be eclectic, creative, and full of dramatic surprise.
