THE SKUNKY PRECIOUS WILD WEST CIRCUS @ THE BLUESTONE, FRIDAY, JUNE 1ST
“You know, traditional country music is something that's going to be around forever.”
--George Strait
For the first time ever, we are going to show the city just what it means to be country in Columbus!
The Wild West Circus, the city’s first honky-tonk extravaganza will showcase the city’s greatest C&W talents against the backdrop of the beautiful and historic Bluestone’s (formerly BOMA) majestic altar/stage.
Columbus’ country music scene is as diverse as it is unique, and in the style of the Grand Ol’ Opry shows of Nashville fame, an assortment of styles will take the stage, from Bakersfield to honky-tonk, country swing to mountain troubadour, bluegrass to scorchin’ hot outlaw country – and every twang of it genuine local Columbus music!
Lineup:
Hank Williams, Sr.+
Matt Monta and Smoking Guns
Bennie James
Slim White and the Averys
Waylon Jennings+
Angela Perley and the Howling Moons
The Song Birds
The Phillip Fox Band
Adam Smith and The Old Company

+=These people are dead, and won’t really be there. We hope they come in spirit, even if poltergeistly
This ain’t your radio country, ladies and gents. You ain’t gonna hear no Rascal Flatts covers here. Pure throwback country from those that relish the lonesome warble of Hank Williams, Sr., or the stomp-em-whup-em rebel stylings of Waylon Jennings, as well as plenty of homegrown original country.
We’re also gonna have a mechanical bull, two-step contest, arm-wrestling tournament, raffles and giveaways, and many more surprises!
Where: the Bluestone (1230 E. Broad St., http://www.LiveAtTheBluestone.com
When: Friday, June 1st (Doors at 6pm; honky-tonkin’ to commence at 7 pm)
Tickets: $10 (can be purchased online at http://www.liveatthebluestone.com)
