Annual Short North Neighborhood Yard Sale
Saturday June 6th - 9 am to 3 pm

This year's yard sale will be even bigger and better than before. The yard sale now includes all the neighborhoods of the Short North including Victorian Village, Harrison West, Italian Village, Dennison Place and The Circles.

An exciting feature this year is the ability to register your sale online and have it appear in a listing and on a map that will be viewable by everyone. This should really help promote your sale. We will also arrange for pickup service by a local charity for any unsold items you wish to dispose of. Last year there were over 150 registered sales in what has become the largest neighborhood yard sale in Columbus!

Wife is with another man, ungrateful brat is off to college, and I lost my job due to downsizing. Selling: antique furniture, kitchenware, household items, xmas decorations, tools, and anything else that reminds me of all three.

@somertimeoh: That's a bummer. Maybe you should take him a couple beers as well.

So how do you all recommend navigating this large yard sale? I know there are maps. Where would you start and in what direction would you go? I loved the German Village one, but I think we mostly walked in circles.

Where are y'all starting? I'm thinking I want to start my end first because that's the biggest clusters. I can go get donuts if y'all want to gather here around 8:30.

The vic village one is more spread out (bigger area too) than german village. There's a concentration of stuff on Neil ave, but there's a lot on random side streets too. I really think the best way to see a bunch on saturday will be via a bike.

I hope next year they can break this thing up some how. We didn't even get to hit east of High or really much north of First. It was kinda overwhelming :( Maybe do south of 1st Saturday and north of 1st Sunday or over 2 weekends? I don't know, I just feel like I would have liked to have seen more. Just a suggestion...

Great day to be out and about though. Meet some cool peeps, saw some cool stuff. Kinda wish I would have bough that cool 8-track player now, haha. Stoooopid.

I want to hear some yardsale victory stories.

I barely did any shopping- I was just enjoying seeing tons of people out in the neighborhood. Whithout really trying, I scored a brand new tent and some records. Nice!

i spent nothing but did get a free dvd of 'crazy people' so i can queue up the jaguar ad and laugh hysterically

best sale story from our collective:
neighbor sitting in mcm teak chair he originally paid $22 for.
man with cash approaches.

man with cash - "how much for the chair"
neighbor - "it's not actually for sale"
man with cash - "i have cash"
neighbor - "how much"
man with cash - "$120"
neighbor - "deal" [celebrates by making a pitcher of cocktails for neighbors]

Kinda the other side of the coin, but we sold some stuff, and met lots of nice people. Unfortunately, none of the furniture sold(which was a main incentive for us to do this). We're considering Craig's list for that - but we're not sure if it's worth the pain. A lot of what we sold was gifts people gave us that we don't use: unopened turkey fryer went to neighbor for homebrewing (we'll get free sample - yum), chocolate fountain went to stranger for free (last hour of our sale, we started marking things free). Our human powered lawn mower went to woman from 'burbs for $10 who uses gas, but had been wanting to try these (I hope we won a convert). Lots of our "free to good home" books were adopted :)

...........I still have red stilettos. They were marked $2. They didn't sell. And neither did the coordinating Kay Unger, size 8 red dress (marked $20) :( These look a little mature for the prom dress donations, IMO - but maybe I'll try them anyway.

Not sure if I'll pull a blammo before I donate some remaining items to charity. I know it's summer, but does anyone want any christmas decor? It's mostly table top stuff - people gift these to me because I'm really into decorating my house....but I'm not so much into things on all the table tops...

Those red stilettos are faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaab. If only they weren't a half size too small...but don't think I didn't consider filing my toes down shorter to make it work. SO CUTE.
