Last night I was pulling weeds out of the cracks in the sidewalk and driveway. What a chore! A lady walks by and tells me, "If you have a putty knife, that will make your job much easier."
Well, yes I do, and yes it did. Why didn't I think of that! So much easier to get weeds out of those cracks!

If you can't unscrew a stripped screw, place a rubber band in between the screw and the screwdriver. It's also better to use one size up from the screw head which caused the strip. Apply hard and slow force as you turn. Usually the rubber band will fill in the gaps caused by the strip and allow extraction.

When applying adhesive decals or bumper stickers to glass and non porous surfaces spray a light coating of windex down first. This will allow you to move the decal to align it and then the windex will evaporate leaving a nice leveled sticker with plenty of stick.
On the exact opposite side of things when applying new grips to your bike handle bars. Spray the bars and inside of the grips with hairspray. The hairspray will act as a lubricant when wet and the grips will slide right on. Once the hair spray dries your grips will never move and will be solid for their entire lifespan.

Loving these.
Addition to Lew's - a chunk of lemon nuked, then use the piece of lemon to wipe down the inside of the micro. Also - if you have porous, old counters, fresh lemon is the best stain remover (as bleach can sometimes discolor, if the finish is worn).
Baby oil/mineral oil rubbed into a soap dish will make it much easier to remove the inevitable soap coating (for those of you still using old school bars of soap).

why not get 2 cat boxes for your cat? it gives the cat more options and, assuming you are using the proper amount of litter, you have to clean them less often!

Invest in a lens pen to keep your camera lens(es) clean when you are shooting. It has a brush to clean off debris, and a soft disc to clean smudges, and is small enough to fit in your pocket.
Use large lens cloths for your glasses to keep them dirt and smudge free. Tissues and clothing can scratch lenses. Cord carries 10"x10" Photoco cloths for $10.

Those interchangeable hex-bit screwdrivers can also turn a jammed garbage disposal. In a blackout, you can wrap a string around the bit and turn the disposal.
Also for blackouts, keep a camping lantern where you can find it in the dark. There are nice LED lanterns these days, some hand-cranked.
Vodka can clean glass in sub-freezing temperatures.

Toss 3/4 cup of vinegar in your laundry in place of fabric softener. Its cheaper, better for the environment, and better for your health than other detergents and dryer sheets.

soak a washcloth in fabric softener, wring out and air dry. acts as reusable dryer sheet, works dozens of times.

To keep fresh berries from molding rapidly after picking them, or purchasing them from the store, rinse them in a water + vinegar solution 10:1. The vinegar is diluted enough not to alter the taste of the berries, but strong enough to kill any surface molds for about 8-10 days.
