Just a reminder about the Seafood Get-Together event that will be taking place at my house starting at 4:00 on Saturday, June 7th.
Just PM me or make me your Facebook-friend (:)) for address/directions.
Here's the scoop:
You bring something tasty with seafood in it to share or grill. Dutch Rub (who is a fabulous cook) said he is bringing ceviche. I've also heard mutterings from Lew and Blammo about procuring some tentacles to throw on the grill... now it's time for the rest of you culinary fools to throw down!
Also feel free to bring beer/wine to pair with your offerings.
I have a decent sized yard, so I'm also hoping to procure a corn-hole set or two. And if you are of the 6-string persuasion, feel free to bring your guitar.
I'll post another reminder closer to the date... just wanted to give sufficient warning to get your fishy thinking-caps on.

As most of us know, I do not cook.
So I have 2 options:
1) Bring pouches of tuna fish
2) Have someone cook a dish for me if I provide materials (and by "someone" I mean Merc :lol: )
I will however have my standard 30 pk of PBR in tow...you can count on that.
PS - I would like Dutch Rub and Merc to collaborate on some kind of slider. Merc's salmon cakes are to die for so that would be awesome start. I think the two of them could make something really special.

My parents will be in town for my sister's graduation.
My sister does not eat so she will not be invited.
My parents happen to love the booze. Perhaps they will be interested in attending. And then BrianG's dream can be a reality.

And I second Somertime's collaboration with Merc and Dutch Rub. Teriaki salmon sliders, anyone? (And no, that does NOT mean DR can get out of ceviche...)

I will bring one cornhole set for use.
I haven't figured out food yet, but I'm sure blammo and I could collaborate on something squishy and slimy delicious with tentacles and all that jazz.

can someone pleeeeze explain to me what cornhole is? i suppose i could just google it but i'd like to keep up the blissful ignorance because it sounds delightfully dirty. cases in point:
- shut your cornhole before i shmack you with my cob!
- hey baby, i like it when you aim your kernels at my cornhole.
- cock blocked, clam slammed, and corn holed. (that's for you whitespace!)
- forget milfs and filfs, that cornhole makes me wanna stroke my ears!

It's beanbags. Er, cornbags. You throw them into holes in wood things. It's what we midwesterners do for kicks at cookouts.

I have basically been at work since 8am yesterday and haven't had time to prepare anything. Any suggestions for something I can throw together quickly? At a minimum I'll bring plenty of beer and wine.

Bring yourself and some beer. I have a feeling there will be plenty to eat :)
If you feel compelled to bring food, there's always those pre-prepared crab/salmon dip thingers. You can never have too many crab/salmon dip thingers :)

Unfortunately, I do not think I will be able to attend the Seafood Aphrodisiac Extravaganza tonight. :cry: My parents are in town and are taking me, my sister, her professor and his wife out to dinner. (We are celebtrating her graduation, my birthday and father's day all in one dinner). I will eat seafood in honor of you all. If I'm sober enough after dinner with my family (highly unlikely since all of us together is a challenge and drinking is the only way to deal with it) ... I will try to come by for the end!!!

This was pretty awesome... I think I should have kept some of my stories to myself though :oops:
and I'm going to rent the film "Let's go to Prison" because the talk last night has me intrigued... I think Gourmand identified my competitive desire to have prison stories appropriately at brunch.
