this is how I know I'm getting older. I'm just not down with loitering at a party/kegger house..
However, it we could lay down a tarp in that main ball room and cover it with oil and...
SLIDE SLIDE SLIDE!!!
:D
and I'd demand a performance of this song by AC/DC every night!

I'm glad someone else is down with the slip n slide idea!
Well, I don't think it should be necessarily the "kegger" house. I would be in support of a range of parties from casual to completely formal. Columbusite could even wear his fedora (which we'll have in stock next week by the way) and spats (which we won't but surprisingly have had requests for).
If I can share a bunk with John Ross, I'm IN!!!
John Ross wrote Core, where are you?I thought you'd be in on this for sure...
LOL! Oh, I"d be totally into this. Couple interesting tidbits. Years ago, the guy who owned it (it's owned by one of the local realtors now) used to have sick parties in it, particularly one per year that was pretty unreal. Of course, when I stopped doing drugs I stopped going to that party though.
Also, couple years back I was looking at a commercial space and it was through the realtor's office that owns the Castle (and they have their offices in it). Talked to two different ladies who worked there and both said it was definitely haunted. Like clear as day footsteps on the floor above...which was empty. All sorts of stuff like that

as long as they don't call that annoying as hell kid from Paranormal State. I'd like to punch him in his brain.
John Ross wrote Maybe this is old news, but you can rent the Schwartz Castle at 490 S. Third St. Click to metro-rentals.com for more info.In short:
"This is a 5000 Sq. foot, 3 bedroom, 3 bath penthouse, freshly renovated as of October 2007. Luxury amenities include ballroom, private elevator and private movie theater. Antique doors, intercom system throughout, original mosaic floors and wrought iron spiral staircase, leading to the sky view deck, are just a few of the hundreds of amenities and features. Lease for $5,900/month, no pets. Purchase options are available."
Only uppity peasants would buy or lease just the penthouse.
A real baron would buy the whole building!

Wait, you stopped doing drugs? You're out.
Ghosts will not deter us from "this unique life-changing opportunity to create lasting memories in one of the most glamorous residences in Columbus" -- how I'm wording my ad for roommates wanted.
I didn't know what y'all were talking about last night so I drove by on my way to work this morning. Let's do it!!
Edit: That was unintentionally too easy for Ndcent to make dirty, so yeah, just let's do it.

Ooooh, wait...I want to play Ndcent for a minute.
I think he'd say...
"I'd hit it."
:D
I'm a genuinely nice person.
Just ask...ask...um...uh...my cats?
I just saw on the Franklin County Sheriff site that this place is up for forclosure sale on 4/2/10. Apparently they couldn't find renters willing to shell out nearly $6000/month.
Heh. What's the starting bid? The CU clubhouse dream could be closer than ever!
ETA: Ah, it looks like they're selling it as two units, one for $330k and one for $660k. OK, so the dream may have to wait a while yet ...
Very interesting. Where's John Ross!
If I recall correctly, it used to be $4000 a month for 9000 sq feet
Considering it was originally listed for $1.6M that is a drop.
As for the murders; someone should put together a haunted house tour of German Village. I have heard about a few houses that qualify.
Tenzo: Not much of a drop. Default starting price at a foreclosure auction under Ohio statute is 2/3 of appraised value.
I do think I recal seeing it listed in the newspaper, very briefly, for $990K.
There have to be great views from the top.
Just a little close to the highway.
I remember calling them in May of 2008 and offering them $3,200 a month with a three year lease. They were not interested.
