I am not sure I like the idea that they allow dogs in cheap highrise housing that seems to be having problems.

It wasn't a fake review. I'm typing from Skyview Towers using their WiFi... If you have any questions about the place let me know... It isn't as bad as people are claiming it is.

@skatanic12 as you just said you've only been here a week....well buckle up sweetheart because you will soon see the reality.....how are you feeling right now since the heat has been off ALL DAY and part of last night???? Especially with freezing temps? GTFOH! Called the office and they said "it's been fixed we had to shut it off because *insert bullshit excuse here* but it's back on now and it will be working "IN AWHILE" I absolutely HATE this place and for people to come on here and post fake reviews you're not doing anyone else any favors by deceiving. Also no one has addressed the black car parked in the middle of the parking lot that is totaled and has its windows busted out..airbags...etc...apparently now this place is a junkyard as well or the maroon van parked IMMEDIATELY in front of the building on 4 flats that has OBVIOUSLY been abandoned. Enough of these lies to try and market this place...as I said before this place is absolute HELL!
These people have posted OBVIOUS fake reviews under google reviews like this one:
"I have lived here for about 4 months and absolutely love it! Yeah, the neighborhood is not the best, but that's just the neighborhood. The building itself is awesome! They took a 40 year old building that had so much potential already and poured profir into to provide their tenants with affordable and comfortable living. I wouldn't beleive any of the lies posted on here by others. People that don't pay their rent and go on the internet and write lies because they like to try and blame others. Furthermore, I would like to clear up several of the things that were by a former lowlife on here . 1. There are not drug deals going on. Maybe you are just a little paranoid. 2. The owner visits the buiulding quite often so I am positive he knows exactly how things run here 3.Secuirty is great. The few times I have had a noisy neighbor, they have ALWAYS immediately taken care of it. And I have seen them quite often out walking the property at night checking on things and escorting people that don't belong here off of the property 4. The website is NOT A LIE. If you were already aware of the neighborhood before you moved in, maybe you shouldn't have moved there. 5. Rent is never raised unless you don't let them know that you want to renew your lease, you will automatically go month-to-month. In which case, that would be YOUR FAULT b/c that fact is clearly stated in your lease. 6. Secuirty cameras do work. However, I will add that it doesn't matter if you are in the wealthiest, nicest neighborhood out thtere; no one can guarantee safety. That's just the way the world works today. 7. Maintenance is AMAZING!!! While they are probably around 400 tenants that live in the building, maint. usually gets my work orders done within 72 hrs. and they do a great job!!!! If you are looking for an extremely conveinent location (only 4 min. from downtown), EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE, and an affordable price, I reccomend you visit Skyview Towers. With ALL utilities included, a free fitness center, indoor basketball court, on site store with dry cleaning service, billiards, and study rooms with FREE wi-fi, you could not ask for more!!! You'll LOVE it!!! I have a 1 bedroom that has the most amazing view of the city and i only pay $575 every month with all my utilitites included!! Go see them! You won't be dissapointed!" LIESSSSSSSSS! AND OBVIOUSLY WRITTEN BY MGMT DONE@!Posted 4 months ago # -

I am a newbie to Columbus, having relocated from Arkansas. After staying in an extended-stay hotel since December 3, 2011...and after driving around CBUS and searching for, and looking at, various apartment complexes, I think that Skyview Towers is quite awesome!
I applied at Skyview Towers three weeks ago, and was approved yesterday! Since Skyview Towers is not advertised in the local apartment guides, the newspapers, or anywhere else that I had looked, I was fortunate to happen to be on I-670 coming into downtown when I noticed the Towers and the big banner hanging off the building advertsing their $575/month one-bedroom rates. So, I decided to exit and check the place out.
I was impressed with what I saw and Lindsey, an property agent, gave me the grand tour of the facility. I saw nothing to give me concern during the tour, and the apartment I viewed was quite nice with an awesome view! The complete fitness center looked awesome and well-stocked, and I love the billiard room. And the new laundry facility there is huge and looked clean.
I've read all the horror stories about Skyview Towers, especially back when the property was owned and managed by different people, and I just don't see the problems that the naysayers are posting. Sure, the neighborhood is dicey, but I don't plan on walking the neighborhood, especially after dark. And once inside the gates and the building itself, I feel completely safe.
I am due to move into the place on the 28th of January 2012. I will keep you guys posted as to my thoughts and experiences while there.

I park at the 521 tower, but I've never seen either of the abandoned vehicles you are talking about. There is one white Mercedes I've seen sitting on flats for the last week but I definitely haven't seen the van out front..
Also, I didn't notice the heat was off... maybe it wasn't in my tower.
This is my first ever apartment, and I have a very limited budget so I guess it works for me. I'm a short bike ride away from CSCC campus where I'm attending so I'm saving money on gas also..Just saying, this place may not be for everyone, but don't immediately dismiss the idea of living here.. It has been just fine to me.

Hey everyone, I am planning to move into an apartment at Skyview Towers in about a week. I found the discussion to be very helpful, and thought I might as well contribute about the application/living experience of the apartment. This is my first time renting and also working with Cindy/Lindsey/Jessica and they were all easy to talk to and polite. I don't know anything about big cities or the area, I cannot even drive. I don't mind rudeness, noise, unaesthetic surroundings or messiness as long as there is no physical damage on me. I however have very few items and I am wondering if there are any type of furnishings that are provided in the apartments?

It is good to keep us posted, but having toured the towers recently, I would suggest that money is better spent elsewhere.

UPDATE: Okay, I've been in Skyview Towers since February 1, 2012...and the only thing I can now say about the conditions here is "OMFG!" Although the Towers look nice from the outside to a first-timer, once you get inside and are there a while, your perception changes. This place is nothing but hi-rise ghetto complex. The multi-million dollar renovations that were supposed to have takenn place? Where are they? The apartments have fixtures from the 50s. I have a new refrigerator and nothing else. The radiator heat in my unit has been spotty lately. The smell of pot and crack permeates the floors and thug-like residents and "guests" come and go in the complex. There is a core group of older tenants who dominate the lobby area and do nothing but curse and gossip about other tenants and try to intimidate the dominate the lobby and other tenants. Although there are a large group of gay people in this complex, there is also homophobia coming from certain tenants. A friend and I, both of live here, have been directly attacked verbally by one particular hater. Property management doesn't do anything at all to stop the haters or the domineering tenants in the lobby area. In fact, the property manager appears to be friends of the core group of tenants living here that are causing all the problems. Security is a joke, with one security officer seemingly being controlled and used by management to squash good tenants from reporting crime and other incidents here in the complex.
Skyview Towers is definately NOT a good place to live at the moment. Elevators have no cameras; what cameras there are are locked inside the management office instead of the security office. What good are the cameras then? This setup provides management with the means of keeping criminal activities from being reported, documented and dealt with.
There are regular and ongoing reports of no heat in the units, drug use in the apartments, kids running everywhere like the place was a daycare center, thugs roaming the halls, "outsiders" being allowed to use the gym at all hours of the day and night, non-residents driving through into the complex at night, following the tenants who let them in...it's becoming a nightmare, to say the least! The only good staff members seem to be Jessica and Lindsey, both Leasing Agents who work in the front office, Larry a security guard, as well as Sydney another guard who fell victim to a mysterious breakdown which caused him to be taken away from the property where he will probably not return (a shame, really). Nobody else working there I would trust.
Mail is being stolen out of the mailboxes by employees, who have keys to the two mailrooms. This seems like a flagrant violation...only the mailman should have access to the mailrooms and the residents' mail. Period. Cleaning and maintenance staff have been accused of stealing items from residents' apartments.Posted 2 months ago # -

I lived at Skyview from October of 2010 to November of 2011 and I can say is this place was a mess! I had so many problems with the staff and with people living in the neighborhood jumping the fence and coming into the building. I have to say this was the worst place that I have ever lived In.

ive put a hold on an apt to move-in in april. im a grad student at osu and i grew up in a pretty rough area, so the building and surrounding area dont seem to bad just yet. we shall see what my opinion is after ive moved in. i actually have lived in the Quarry for the last year and Runaway Bay the year before that. I know skyview isnt the level of those complexes (given the reviews and area) but im ditching my roommate and need an affordable place to stay by myself and have always been partial to building living. ill keep you all updated
