Gabe Real
(Detek/Beard'd/Detroit)
Hailing from dirty Detroit, Gabe's sound consists of an eclectic mixture of influences ranging from techno and minimal to tech-house and ghetto-tech. Blending a tapestry on the dancefloor that has been described as unique, jackin and digitally funky, when Gabe is behind the decks one thing is certain; it's a guarantee that you will be shaking your ass! He's the man behind Detek and responsible for the widely successful "Summer Sessions" Thursday night parties in Greektown. As an event production group, Detek continues to set new standards for techno events in the city the music was born in. Having been a DJ for 14 years, he has been fortunate enough to travel and play music alongside many of his most respected musical influences. He’s currently busy developing the Detek record label and honing his skills in the studio with the goal of releasing music that will redefine people’s expectations of Detroit techno.

Reference (Luke Hess & Brian Kage)
[Planet E / Echospace / Beretta Music]
(Detroit, Michigan)
Detroit Techno was formed as an escape from the mainstream. Similarly, The Detroit duo known as Reference focuses on the soul of electronic music, not the hype.
Reference consists of the Detroit-based artists Luke Hess & Brian Kage. The group was created for the expression of underground music and dance culture. Luke Hess is a name synonymous with the ‘dub techno’ sound but his roots go deeper than that. His continued hard work as a musician and his talent as a DJ has allowed him to release music on some of the most respected labels, and play some of the most prestigious clubs in the world. Brian Kage is the founder of the record label, Beretta music. Along with a countless number of successful releases, Brian’s experience as a producer, DJ, and label head has helped catapult the careers of some of today's brightest and best artists in the dance music community.
Like any pure artistic or avant-garde entity, they have no concern for following trends. Hess & Kage have come together to create music in it's truest form; Experimentation, soul, sweat, live instrumentation, and organic sounds all welded together to form deep and timeless music. The main concern of Reference is to stand diligently behind the foundation of underground culture and against the commercialism that longs to destroy the freedom of our senses.

MISTER SHIFTER
Jack Sheets, aka Shapeshifter, has been a driving force in Ohio's electronic music scene for over the past ten years.
In the late nineties and early 2000's Jack helped elevate the local drum & bass scene by hosting and DJ'ing many popular events at Columbus' hottest night spots including Mekka, Red Zone, & Global. Also making the rounds at large scale raves, Jack played alongside world class acts such as LTJ Bukem, Bad Company, John B, Goldie, & Dieselboy.
In 2003, Jack and friend Mike Richards formed the drum & bass production duo Random Movement. Their quick rise to success was cemented with top-selling singles on labels such as Breakbeat Science, DJ Marky's Innerground label, and the hugely popular "Stars in the Dark' release on Bassbin Recordings.
After taking time off and leaving his partnership with Random Movement, Jack returned under the name Mister Shifter and began mixing a unique blend of genres including techno, house, electro & indie dance. Opening for world class acts such as MSTRKRFT, Steve Aoki & Benny Benassi, Jack quickly returned to form and made regular rounds at venues such as Spice Bar, Sugar Bar, BoMA, & Bristol Bar.
Jack continues to please audiences by showcasing the world's finest underground dance music. With regular appearances around the Midwest, he always finds a way to move any crowd.
