I get to head to San Antonio with the family for fun and will have a room near the Alamo and Riverwalk and was wondering about dining suggestions. Will not have a car, but dont mind walking. Most online places dont really give too many props for the many restaurants on the riverwalk as being too touristy, but there has to be something good to eat there right?
Anyone want to share who has been to San Antonio fun stuff, food, walks, etc?

If you take a river taxi all the way up north on the Riverwalk... and get off at the old Pearl Brewery... there is an awesome grouping of restaurants up there. We ate at Gloria... which was amazing and quaint.
San Antonio was a really amazing place. The art museum is close to Pearl and I highly recommend going. As well as Blue Star Art Center which is at the south end of the Rivewalk and is also very awesome.

We did this for our last night out and it was an outstanding recommendation. Ate outside on the river at LaGloria, 70 degrees on friday night. Rode the rivertaxi up and back down after dark. Thanks for this.
San Antonio is an outstanding city. The riverwalk is an almost beyond comprehension architectural and engineering marvel. I am still in wonder of it. The amount of money that it must generate for the city must be vast. That is a serious up and coming town.
