I tried the search function and could not locate a thread I rcall reading in the recent month to two month span. It was a men's barbershop/spa/salon that had just opened or was opening up in I *think* it was Grandview? Does any recall the name or any f their information?
I am trying to find a stylist who is very good with women's short haircuts and styles. Can anyone suggest/recommend someone?
I am also trying to find a salon tech who is very good with brow shaping/design. Any recommendations?

Not sure about a barbershop, but for my short haircuts I go to Josh at Salon Hotel Lily on high st. in the short north next to Havana. He is fantastic, inexpensive, and does a great job. I know a lot of women who go to him (both short and long hair) and they all have great cuts.

Waldo's for eyebrows, they used to use melted brown sugar instead of wax, don't know if they still do, but they did an excellent job when I had in town talent that I'd send there.

I've been going to 1400 Downtown for a few years (used to be called Burnz) and like it a lot although I don't know if they do much in the way of spa-treatment type stuff there.

I used to go every couple of weeks to a real barber in Kingsdale for a shave and hot towel. MAN, it was relaxing, even though those straight razors look scary as hell.

I have no salon training but am damn good with eyebrows. I'm a total hippie but every time I go to the salon they say "Damn your eyebrows look great who did them?".
I think it's from watching so many film noir movies... you've got to get your brows right so the femme fatale can be mysterious.
So if you need a total stranger who is a complete nonprofessional to rip little hairs out near your eyes, I'm your gal! Just ask Lauren Bacall. 8)

On the topic of spa services, does anyone know of a great (brazilian) bikini waxer that is under $50?
The woman I used to go to is good but is now like $65 and I just think that is too much to spend every few months!

Straight razors scare the crap out of me too, but I tried it one time last summer. Bumps like crazy for days...
I have been a shave brush user ever since. Now, THAT is boss (and makes me feel like a bad ass).
