Had another great brunch at Sage today and managed to snag one of their new menus, which starts on Tuesday. With their permission, here's a little leak...
The menu looks great - happily, my favorite black bean/chorizo/sweet potato hash is staying on the brunch menu, as is the creme brulee french toast. Cinnamon coffee cake and blueberry pancakes will be be added.
Standouts from the dinner menu include:
Duck Pappardelle with chestnuts & escarole
Braised lamb shank with SPAETZLE (one of my favorite things)
Florida Mahi with chorizo & mussles in saffron broth
Still haven't made it there for dinner, but I plan to asap.

I really want to go there for their brunch, it looks so good but my friends are all bums and I hate eating alone.

I went for brunch last week with a group and thought it was pretty good. The hash was definitely the stand out. The mimosa carafes were a big hit and really well priced I thought. Nice relaxed atmosphere.

My wife and I went back for dinner last night and I thought it was great. The place was packed but they fit us in without a reservation. I preferred the dinner to brunch but that's not a knock on the brunch, I just thought the dinner was all prepared really well. Again it was a nice comfortable setting. We will be going back for sure.

That menu for Valentine's Day seems kind of price pumped, maybe for the holiday. Maybe I'm just being picky, but it looks like a bistro menu at The Refectory (which is 24 bucks per person, not 50).

Gawd I love Spaetzle.

Other than that, I really want to go to brunch at this place. if anyone wants to watch a mildy cranky 16 month old for two hours on a sunday in the near future, let me know.

ate sage tonight for the first time and was very impressed. given the atmosphere, service and quality of the food (i had the salmon) i felt like the price was a bargain. my friends, i tell you, columbus is awesome for a lot of reasons and sage is one of them. = )

I just wish that they didn't swap the art out. Brian Reame's work really made that place look great. Now with very tall walls and smal photography placed 80 inches from the ground makes the art seem dwarf and nobody can really see any details. That and the plain colored fabric pieces that are intended to damper the sound look like poop and don't make a bit of difference.

Otherwise the food is great!

Man, I love Sage. We eat there about once a month and it's always good. this menu doesn't appeal to me much though, but the Specials they run normally win it anyways. they once had a Gnocchi with lobster cream sauce that was really unbelievable, I would love to have that again.

This is where the Kitchen Lounge used to be (don't know if it was Turkish before that). It's on North High Street, North Campus/South Clintonville area. In the same strip as Hound Dog's Pizza and the Ravari Room.

Just came back from dinner at Sage and it was awesome. Great atmosphere, delicious food, great service. I had the grilled pork chop and it was fab.

Hated the parking mess and the unsavory characters begging for change in the lot, both on the way in and the way out.

Otherwise, though, it's a nice little gem.

did you park behind the restaurant? I've NEVER had any problems with bums parking there. I can see problems with bums from around the liquor store out front and with the Sloopys lot, but never behind the shopping center. and also, if you have issues Sage offers valet service (in the back)

I met a friend there who parked in the Sage lot. By the time I arrived, I had to park over at the old bank lot. The two guys hounding people for money were in Sage's lot, and even followed us over to the bank parking lot to harass us when I was dropped at my car! I'm thinking, dude, don't you remember you just asked us for money about a minute ago??

This certainly doesn't affect my opinion of Sage and won't stop me from returning, but it is annoying.

that is not the norm at all. I've never been accosted for $ in any lot around there and I've been to Sage, Hounddogs, and Ravari quite a bit. Sounds like some of the peeps that would normally hound you down on high in the Short North have made their way up North. they won't last long, I'd expect them to get stomped shortly by some Ravari patrons(hopefully)

I hope so. Sage is such a nice place that I'd hate to see the kind of patrons the restaurant attracts be run off by what they have to go through in order to get inside.

Parking in the back lot does get really tight due to Ravari patrons. I can't give up my super secret parking spot online either(not really a secret, but it normally is available)
and you might just utilize the valet parking for it to be easy. and you have to be careful about parking in the bank lot, although they just lifted the towing there to be more neighborly, [see sloopy's thread for discussion regarding parking there] http://www.columbusunderground.com/forums/topic/why-i-might-someday-go-to-sloopy-s-we-ll-see

Thanks for the link. I parked as close to the side street as I could, being sure not to park right underneath a towing sign! I did really feel like I was taking a chance parking there, but it was either there or the abandoned-looking gas station across Dodridge. Yikes.
