Please join us for the upcoming show, Sacred Vessels, at Gallery 831. The show will be up from May 25 - June 23, 2012 and the opening reception will be May 25 from 6-9pm.
Sacred Vessels is created around an array of timeless utilitarian and lidded vessel forms. Birkhimer says, "My vessels are fusional abstractions of pagodas, western utilitarian ceramics, and Christian temple motifs. Sacred Vessels could be defined as a container devoted exclusively to one purpose or use. Throughout history, these vessels presented have had this title in all relational levels in the lives of men. Translating Sacred Vessels into the human being perspective is the definition that I am most concerned with and how it relates to our American culture."
Launched in August 2010, TheMetropreneur.com is a local online resource devoted to small business development and entrepreneurship. Its aim is to tell the stories of Central Ohio's business community, foster regional economic development and assist entrepreneurs with its resource-heavy focus.
