The valet lots for the dining spots in the Short North are the biggest eysores and blight the area. The valet spot behind The cap off Poplar St for the Cap dinging spots is a gravel lot the spills it gravel out onto the street and blights Poplar St. The Rigsby's lot back on Lincoln is a cintzy grass lot that looks like a hillbillies yard. Then there are those asphalt speads off Hubbard for Union and by IV park. Those places really up the value of the area. I once saw some intimidating people there.
This is all part of the hidden cost of money dropping suburbanites needing to park there cars out of site of High St.
High St. and the SN is so shallow. It is like the prop building in old Westerns. Just fronts. Other than Tigertree and TASI. The whole district has no east-west depth. What a joke.
The biggest eysore of the Short North:
no not the White Castle, no not the NorthStar, no not UDF, no not Krogers, no not the Segway store....
The biggest f'n eyesore in the Short North is the ROSSI PARKING LOT next to UDF and across from ROSSI. That thing looks like lot Z from some podunk county fair. It has lost all its gravel and is all mud and mud puddles and trash. It is not lit. And most of all it has that nasty, broke-up chain link fence with barb wire on the one side of it. Yuck.
I think we need to send an open letter to the ROSSI for fix that dump. I see every night some guy escorting is hot date across the mud puddles and into the UDF lot on their way to ROSSI. What a joke.
This is the issue I am bringing up at the 2012 Citizens Summit.
