I admit that when I heard the news this morning, my first thoughts were of negative wishes and browsing celebratory FB statuses. My second thoughts were about when Ted Kennedy died & someone on CU made some unkind comments only to be chastised for disrespect. They also said that Dems/left CUers would do the same if it were a Republican icon, to which I thought, "No way." Then Limbaugh went into the hospital and proved that mostly right, with the considerable fault to the comparison being that there's quite a difference between an active government member and politician and a radical talk show host.
Anyway. My point was that, no matter how much I wanted to make a snarky remark about wishing the worst, I remembered the Ted Kennedy thread and thought, "Damn. Can't do it."
On the other hand, he's still alive, so does that free things up?
Makes me think about something George Will says all the time, "Conservatives think liberals have bad ideas; liberals think conservatives are bad people."
