13-16 dollars for sandwiches is fucking insane. Good luck to them, but it won't be my dime.

Or live in Manhattan.
Memo to Restaurants charging $13 for a cheeseburger and efficiency sized downtown condos on the market for half a mill...This is freaking Columbus Ohio!

I want to know what an 8 dollar lemon square tastes like...

I don't care how righteously grilled that pork chop is, twenty four bucks is a sin!

I dunno. Northstar charges $12 for their veggie burger, and $13 for their pulled pork sandwich. They don't seem to be hurting for customers.

Sorry...I'd have posted the vid, but youtube is blocked at work.
Furthermore, I make badass lemon squares. You can pay me $8 for them if you'd like. :)Posted 3 years ago # -
I am the last person to make price assessments, but those listed are screwy.
14$ (Mussels) is more than any appetizer @ Rosendale's. And 6$ more than mussels @ G. Michael's.
Both the chicken and salmon are just 4$ < comparable @ Rosendale's or Refectory. Pork is the same price as Handke's. (was) And Spagio's nearby has Berkshire pork entrees for 5$ less.
And for laughs, that burger is just shy of 2x going down the street for karaoke or trivia. And Magic Hat.
Either they are carving out a really ambitious goal of quality/environs/service or they are pricing for what they hope is brand loyalty/Northstar vibe. I got no problems with the price point, but they have to deliver equal or better than what else is out there. I don't think they are up to it, even in a "polished-casual" setting.
And the final item - "tisane" is just an infusion of leaves. ie 7$ for mint tea!

So with a little hike, could you really have the following?
Recession Special
Cup of tea
Bowl of soup
lemon barfor 22.50?

Maybe they're aiming for the people in the condos on 3rd which start at $450,000? Marshall's does sound interesting, despite the stripmall layout.

and I get in trouble when I say that.
Yeah, $20 for a sammich and drink for walk up ordering was a little much. But it was 90 degrees and they let Tenzo sit at the table with me.Posted 3 years ago # -
I knew it was going to be a different restaurant concept than North Star, but I was really hoping for more veggie-friendly choices than what I see here. :(
Edited: Apparently I missed a couple when scanning the menu, so it's not as bad as I first thought, but still ...

I'll try it, since I like Northstar and it's in my neighborhood. But at those prices, I don't see it being exactly a regular thing.

This sucks, I was hoping Grandview would get that one place it seems to be missing. An affordable bar/grill that has good food at decent prices as well as a good happy hour. (I know G-Cafe is right down the block, but I just never feel a good vibe in there, I always think I should eat and get out b/c it's so crowded. This place just adds to the list of Grandview places I can not go to regularly b/c they are too expensive for what you get.

Knotty Price, is a wee bit expensive and am not a fan of the food that isn't expensive on the menu. Plus do not like the atmosphere, which is a shame since I can see it from my house.

Hm. Looking at this menu, I am pretty happy they rejected me when I applied there. One reason was my inability to be a hard seller. guess you'd have to be to hawk a $14 cheeseburger. (just for the record, the other reason was my lack of personality)
btw, anyone can come to my house and I will make you a delicious, grass-fed burger with homemade brioche buns, local cheese, local lettuce and local tomatoes when they are in season, for just over cost. which will be about $6 a pop.
