What planet did this guy come from? He's fucking incredible.
He's this guy from some small town in Kentucky who, despite his denials, appears to have a minor mental impediment, possibly autism.
He's a big star on Youtube right now, and for good reason. (also, I'm not sure if this belongs in the music forum but...the music forum doesn't get a lot of traffic and I wanted to see what the CU thought of this guy)
His stuff just blows me away, and this is coming from a guy who hates techno stuff, for the most part (even though this isn't techno). It's just all him doing this. He does all the layers, all the beats, all the PLAYING, everything. He's amazing.

Dude's talented for sure. I think it's quite possible that his awkward demeanor is an act, though.
Either way, doesn't diminish his obvious skill.

That's been suggested by a lot of people. I honestly find it really hard to believe. Just because he has a speech impediment and a lazy eye doesn't really need to mean that he can't be supremely talented at something.

I don't disagree in the least. Just observing that we're talking about something on the intertubes, and things aren't always what they seem. I've read posts elsewhere from people who seem to have known him personally and suggest that he's been doing alternative personalities for a while. But then, that's just something else from the intertubes...

It happens a lot in the midwest: someone who is into doing something creative like music or art plays up their weirdness to get press/attention/etc. Folks from the coasts are like "Oh, look at that precious, naive midwesterner."
It sucks to be patronized but it beats going un-noticed.

He's from Kentucky which, despite it's more northern geographic location, is considered southern. At least that's how I look at it.

I don't think people from the coasts are going to give someone from the south any more respect than someone from the midwest. Especially Kentucky vs. Ohio, for example. At least that's how I look at it.

I've considered it. But then I think about where the conversation would go when somebody asked me about him. "Uhhh, yeah, I saw him on youtube. He was pretty sweet."
