I'm guessing it'll be Huckabee.

Would it help or hurt Romney if he found a conservative black woman to run with him?

Thanks ... I am a political junkie! I prefer to watch 24 hour news channels than most things! I don't know if Gov. Haley has enough experience (she could get labeled as a Palin).
Kasich needs to work on his own approval rating ... I think you will see Mitt take a Washington person, at least maybe a Gov. who has been in the senate or congress.

Assuming who he picked wouldn't drag down the ticket, and considering Rice remains an incredibly well liked figured even from the Bush Administration, not to mention probably one of the smartest people in the GOP, I think Rice would do nothing but help the ticket.

You assume that Romney will win the nomination. The conservative wing of his party seems to be pulling out all of the stops to block him.
Having said that, he looks to best of what the GOP has to offer at this point (not saying much), short of Jeb Bush. But Jeb has the unfortunate honor of sharing a last name with his radioactive brother.
For the sake of guessing, it'll be Romney and Perry this time. They lose to Obama.
Jeb and Kasich in 2016. By then, people will have mostly forgotten about GWB or enough so to give another Bush a chance.

I've heard Romney called 'The Mormon Obama' in some circles.Don't see Romney picking Perry as VP, though.
Agreed, Perry is OUT. He showed just how dumb he really is and he showed just how dumb some republicans can be.
Haley Bourbour ... I love his folksyness but his pardon issue and race issues might preclude him now.

Looks like Gingrich is gonna win South Carolina in a runaway. Romney will be desperate for Santorum to stay in the race (to disperse the anti-Romney vote in remaining states).
So my guess is that Romney will promise Santorum position as Vice Prez if Santorum stays in the race until Romney has enough delegates to get the nomination.

Santorum's anti-gay, anti-choice Christian Taliban positions are bad enough but his misreading of history is just as bad.
Santorum's victory speech in Iowa has been hailed as one of the best of the campaign. He spoke of his grandfather immigrating from Italy in 1925 "because Mussolini had been in power now three years, and he had figured out that fascism was something that would crush his spirit and freedom and give his children something less than he wanted for them." He came because—why else?—he loved freedom...."He left to the coal fields of Southern Pennsylvania. He worked in the mine at a company town, got paid with coupons, he used to call them."...
What Santorum doesn't realize is that miners like Rick Santorum's grandfather were enslaved to their companies, tied by feudal bonds to the company towns where they lived and worked. Because they had no money to go elsewhere (they didn't get paid in money, but in coupons only redeemable at the company store; and how can you move if you don't have cash?). Worse, corrupt accounting systems typically kept families perpetually in debt, Making moving to another place of one's choosing, the basic act of a free person, a jailing offense. There was no "freedom." No market economy. Santorum's grandfather was a debt slave....
And Santorum is a puppet for corporatists who wanna bring the company town back.

You guys are making one major oversight: The North-South political divide. The vast bulk of the GOP base lives in the South. They'll never accept a ticket with two candidates from the Yankee Northeastern US. That one might very well be a former Gov. of consistently liberal Massachusetts doesn't help any. For this very reason, I suggested Gov. Perry of Texas for VP.
