Pilsner, perhaps you should be in touch with Paddy Shaffer over at this organization.
Ohio Election Justice Campaign
She is still investigating the 2004 presidential election here in Ohio, and has taken photos of thousands of the punch card ballots from that election. Perhaps in the hopes of having the results reversed.
You can also google her name for many web pages and videos documenting her quest.
I'm familiar with Paddy. 2004 can't be "reversed." But what should be done is make sure this can never happen again and it's not just about presidential elections. California's 2010 election to deny legal equality for gays had funny numbers.
SoS Brunner's EVEREST study documented how elections can be stolen. But it did little to prevent it from happening again. She should have decertified the voting machines.
I prefer paper ballots hand counted at the precinct level while being monitored and video-taped. It's verifiable and transparent. Many countries have done away with electronic voting machines. Here's a photo of a French ballot box (made of glass):
That seems like a realistic request. Should take no time at all.
I am sure the poll workers we have would have no trouble at all handling a video camera.
I am sure most of them still have VHS machines blinking 12:00 in their homes.
Here is a photo of a storm trooper sunbathing with a parasol, while a costumed performer sings madrigal songs with a lute to a donkey demon, on a stage in the mud, in front of a frightened and confused little girl.
It's very possible that Rove had his meltdown when Fox News declared Obama winner of Ohio because he didn't get word that not enough votes could be stolen electronically to deliver for Romney. Possible that election theft was called off or scaled back because of reporting by The Columbus Free Press and the fact that there were lawsuits filed by Columbus attorney Cliff Arnebeck and U.S. Justice Dept and F.B.I. were investigating. Here's a press release about two weeks before the election from F.B.I. that that they were going to watch for Election Fraud (not just suppression): http://www.fbi.gov/news/pressrel/press-releases/protecting-the-right-to-vote-and-prosecuting-ballot-fraud
Thanks everyone for helping to keep this topic near top of message board.

Also possible that the lizard people had gorged themselves on fresh baby ( HEY! It's free range! ) and were way too stuffed to send out their flying monkey minions to suppress votes. And little dogs.
Or, maybe, while no system is perfect what we have is working as intended.

I leave about 50 posts a year at C.U. You leave 50 posts in a good hour. Who's the lunatic?
Well, reading through this thread, that may not be the best question to ask...
Also, just because someone is fully engaged in the community constantly does not a nutcase make.
Someone who comes in about 50 times a year and is "passionate" about a topic might make it seem that way.
The half a dozen people at this site who have unlimitied time to use group think and bullying tactics to drive away divergent opinions that matter to some people in this community are lunatics pure and simple.
That's the problem with C.U. Snarf, rus, and graybeak, etc don't have real lives and stifle discussions.

As opposed to the idea that Karl Rove and Romney secretly control voting machines and threw the election for Obama, which is perfectly sane and reasonable.
Riiiiiiiiight.
I never said they threw it for Obama. The fact that our elections have largely been privitized and are not verifiable and transparent concerns many people. The issue affects primary and general elections. There were funny numbers in many primaries. I'd be concerned if I supported Gingrich, Santorum and especially Ron Paul.
Prove to me that election fraud never happens. You can't. So there is a problem with our black box voting system.

Wow. You know absolutely nothing about my life (though you might if read some of my posts on other threads) Including my love of the arts through the art gallery I am part of, my acting and improv comedy shows.
I would think my knowledge of the voting process and systems might indicate I have some sort of job in the industry.
I generally butt heads mostly with the very people you lump me in with here, being rus and snarf, though, moreso perhaps TomOver.
Just because more people have a differing opinion than yours (and some people's, though apparently a different "some people" than they talk about on Fox News) doesn't mean they driving away these divergent opinions.
However, when having these lively discussions on topics, especially those that are more controversial, most people generally don't take it personally.
Reposting 6 year old information doesn't really help your argument in the here and now.
My puppy loves me, why can't you?
As for being raised to the pedestal with Snarf and rus after just 15 short months.. Just wow again. It's kind of an honor really...
Poopy!
Hard to convince people who still wouldn't believe it if a voting machine company whistleblower came forward and said that they took part in stealing elections electronically. Such as this guy (So what if some of the elections in question are from 8 or 10 or 12 years ago. Same technology being used today, same lack of transparency and verifiability
):
