wow...that's crazy as hell!
Kind of stuff happens more than people think, I get the GV Society e-mails from Kathrine Moore with the crime alerts all the time...and if I didn't, I'd have no idea.
Creepy.
That explains the multiple cop cars out front wheh I walked by on my way back to the Market at 11AM.
Armed robbery should be a crime punishable with death by hanging.
Who robs a restaraunt at 10am?? Am I mistaken or would there likely be minimal cash in there at that time of day?
Probably made off with some Filet Oscar, steamed asparagus and a few bottles of KJ Chardonnay.
Prison should be either a deterrent for crime or rehabilitate, which I believe it does neither. I vote for it being a better deterrent
Armed robbery should be a crime punishable with death by hanging. At least armed robbery should get some fingers cut off, maybe a few other things in sex crimes. We should slash funding to prison (give the money to drug rehab, hospitals, schools and police) and then make more money by broadcasting reality shows that make Scared Straight look like Mary Poppins.

Hit the rock, sir. :!:
That place is nothing but trouble anyway. Think of all the lives of cows that have been robbed to please the gluttons at Hyde Park.
Plus there valets suck, always getting in the way of cyclists. That is always a wierd spot to manuever through.

A lot of places stagger when they make their cash deposits, as they don't want to be held up during closing time. For instance, I once worked at a store that did their deposit between 2-3 PM every day.

They could hang 'em right off the Short North arches, maybe at midnight on gallery hop. :D
With the way they can reattach limbs these days, they could at least cut off their fingers or hands and cryogenically freeze them until they finish probation. Only if they complete parole successfully do they get them reattached. It'd probably do wonders on the recidivism rate.

Wow, what a dick. You know, the guy who robbed Hyde Park yesterday. Not only did he pull a total pussy move and use a gun, he outdickisly overdicked his already dickish behavior by calling the person he was robbing by name. Only enormous swollen itchy disease ridden dicks do such things. If you are gonna be a robber, at least be civilized about it and rob someone you don’t know.
Oh, what ColumbusING said about tear gas? That is one of the reasons why I hate the Newport, times when the cops in years past (even addressed in a free paper article, I forget which one) used tear gas to get rid of the leaving crowds who was causing no trouble. Those that doubt me didn't go to enough shows in the past like I did. There are numerous friends of mine that hate the Newport due to jock idiot floorwalkers to the cops with there "every overcrowded show must have the criminal element". Sorry for my little rant, but it's why so many of me and my friends gave up on the Newport.
Seems fishy to me that the security cameras were "under repair" at the time. Sounds like an inside job.

You mean aside from the fact that the robber knew the manager's name?
He obviously wasn't just some random thug off the street...
Well, it'll be really interesting to see how this plays out. Knowing the manager, security cams down, and the strange time of the robbery definitely lead to some inside knowledge.
I'm guessing it will come out that the strange time chosen wasn't random, that either deposits of some kind are held until the next day or something that would lead an insider to choose this time.
definitely inside work. start with any employees with a gambling or drug problem. shouldn't take long to get a lead on this one. classic crime.
I once knew a bank robber from Flint, MI who was an employee at one of the plants there. He went to his credit union on a Wednesday and applied for a new truck loan in the amount of 6952.00 (or some odd number like that) and was denied. So, he returned Friday complete with pistol and ski mask and passed the note to the teller demanding...you guessed it...6952.00.
Yeah, he didn't get away with it.
So they find this guy yet or what?
we went to the patio for happy hour last friday, so we did our part to fill back up their safe. it looks like a lot of other people were doing the same.
maybe it was this guy who robbed hyde park (watch the video, es priceless)
