Rivet Gallery presents Annie Owens' first solo art show, featuring her most recent set of water color and ink paintings. These works are loosely inspired around the idea of growth or lack thereof, through the formative year, and the perception of "home". Annie is also the co-founder of Hi-Fructose Under the Counter Culture Magazine.
Opening Reception: Saturday, January 5th 7-10pm
Exhibit: January 5th through January 31st

In a sense this is very true and holds us back more than not. Rivet truly has brought culture and a more real sense of art and gallery to not only Columbus proper, but also to the short north arts district.
We needed Rivet and now that we have it we need to support it so that this kind of art and this vision can live on on our community.
As for this show I can't wait to see the work involved and the presentation that Laura and Scott create for it.

I agree, but you are 1 person in a city of many. DId you buy a piece?
a 4x6 piece of plywood and acrylic that isn't finished priced around $300 is a hard sell if people don't know the roots of that perticular artist. Again I agree that the quality of work is high, but in this market I wonder how well the show will sell.

Yep. Wouldn't be surprised if I picked up another before the shows end.
The price points are not bad, almost low for someone of her talents. From someone who has purchased art work from Kozik, Camilla d'Errico, Zoetica, Stella Im Hultberg, Bansky, Kaws, Dok A, Brian M. Viveros. and Kobe Ver, adding her work among my personal art collection was and is a no-brainer.
But whatever,

You just named a list of artist that you and I both know and I'm sure a handfull of others in town do as well. The masses would give you the scooby do face on that list though. That was kind of my point. either way no discredit to Rivet or Anne Owens. The work is amazing and worth it in most cases.
