Today (in about 14 hours, our time), the final episode of the longest-running show in broadcast history, Guiding Light airs. It's a shame what CBS and TPTB did to the show in its later years, and there won't be a show that has has a rich legacy like GL had- 72 years, and 15,762 television episodes. No other television series can really say that.

I used to watch it with my grandparents when they watched me after school. I've been watching it this week and after 20 years I still recognize some of the characters.
