Rhythm on the River presents The Kentucky Headhunters
Grammy award winning, Country Music Band of the Year, The Kentucky Headhunters gained a wide audience in the late 1980s and early 1990s with hits such as “Walk Softly on This Heart of Mine,” “Oh Lonesome Me,” and “Dumas Walker.”
Blending sounds from a variety of influences including alternative, blues, country, English rock, rockabilly, jazz and southern rock, The Kentucky Headhunters critically acclaimed records blurred the line between New Country and 1970s country rock to help redefine the 1990s country music scene.

Rhythm on the River presents The Navigators
A high-energy, rock band that plays hits from the 1960s to today, The Navigators feature a powerful horn section and multilayered vocals. Formed in 2003, The Navigators play limited engagements each year to benefit a variety of charities and nonprofit organizations. Since 2003 they have helped to raise over $200,000 to help local & national charities.

Rhythm on the River presents Sean Carney Band with Special Guest Shaun Booker
A one-man ambassador for the blues, Columbus, Ohio native Sean Carney has brought his music to such far flung locales as Switzerland, Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, Slovakia, Hungary, Ecuador, and Costa Rica. He served three terms as president of the Columbus Blues Alliance, and promotes concerts as the creator of “Blues for a Cure,” an annual blues festival that has donated over $50,000 towards cancer research.
In 2007, Sean and the Sean Carney Band won the International Blues Challenge (IBC), and Carney was awarded the Albert King Best Guitarist Award, presented by the Blues Foundation. Acclaimed vocalist Shaun Booker will join the Sean Carney Band during this special Rhythm on the River performance.

Rhythm on the River presents Rhonda Vincent & The Rage
Famously crowned as “The Queen of Bluegrass” by the Wall Street Journal, Rhonda Vincent is the only artist to receive seven consecutive Female Vocalist of the Year titles from the International Bluegrass Music Association. In 2010, Vincent received the prestigious “Star Award” from the Bluegrass Heritage Foundation, recognizing her professional achievements and her efforts to preserve and promote the tradition and heritage of bluegrass music.
Accompanied by The Rage, a lineup comprising some of the best musicians in the business today, Rhonda Vincent brings the best in bluegrass to the stage, incorporating savvy contemporary touches while drawing deeply from the haunting mountain soul of classic Monroe-styled bluegrass.

Rhythm on the River presents Transit Arts Artists On The Move
The Transit Arts Performance Group is a dynamic blend of outstanding professional artists and talented youth artists inspiring and challenging one another to honor our roots while creating fresh new work. Rhythms rise from the drums, turntables and dancing feet, as poets, hip-hop emcees, break-dancers, DJs, musicians, singers and visual artists flow together to create a breathtaking, and interactive, multi-disciplinary performance experience.
Transit Arts, young artists on the move, is a youth development program of Central Community House, based in the seven sites of the Columbus Federation of Settlements and working in partnership with the Greater Columbus Arts Council. Transit Arts is rooted in a rich history of youth and community engagement and enlists young people, ages 12-21, in intensive programs of coaching/mentoring by outstanding professionals from the creative industries.

Rhythm on the River presents BalletMet Columbus
The nighttime sky on the Scioto Mile is the perfect backdrop for an evening of exhilarating dance as the talented dancers of BalletMet Columbus kick off Labor Day Weekend!
BalletMet Columbus, renowned for its versatility and innovative repertory, ranks among the nation’s largest dance companies, and its Dance Academy ranks among the largest dance-training centers. Since its inception in 1978, BalletMet has added 157 company premieres to its repertoire and produced 129 world premieres. It has also developed DanceReach, a series of educational and outreach programs that serve nearly 35,000 people annually; through DanceReach, up to 70 scholarships each year give access to talented youth, many from minority and underserved groups, who cannot otherwise participate.

Rhythm on the River presents Sierra Leone’s Refugee Allstars
Sierra Leone’s Refugee All Stars are a potent example of the redeeming power of music and the ability of the human spirit to persevere through unimaginable hardship and emerge with optimism intact. From their humble beginnings in West African refugee camps Sierra Leone’s Refugee All Stars have performed on some of the world’s most prestigious stages and matured into one of Africa’s top touring and recording bands.
Formed in a refugee camp during Sierra Leone’s civil war, their incredible story is documented in the award winning, compelling and emotionally-driven film, “Sierra Leone’s Refugee All Stars.” Initial support for the film came from executive producers Steve Bing and Shelley Lazar as well as Keith Richards, Paul McCartney, and Angelina Jolie. The resulting studio album, Living Like A Refugee (Anti Records 2006), is one of the most acclaimed world music releases in recent years, garnering the band international acclaim and high profile fans including Aerosmith, who the All Stars collaborated with on the certified Gold Record, Instant Karma: The Amnesty International Campaign to Save Darfur.
