Ok, I'm now the proud owner owner of a "new" (to me) car. To celebrate I've been taking my jalopy to restaurants that were outside the "30 minute bike ride" line and going farther afield in my dining.
I have a few places lined up, but I was wondering if anyone had some personal faves.
So far on my list:
Kihachi on Federated near Sawmill (it's been far too long)
Imperial Palace at the end of Bethel by Bravo (for the weekend buffet(mmm, braised tendon))
Starliner Diner (been a while too.. need to do this)
any number of places in or Near Columbus Square/Cleveland and 161
Including Mimi(now Mili), Yuen's, Nazareth, Udipi Cafe, etc. (even if it's not so scenic up there)
I'd also be interested in any suggestion that could be a scenic 30 minute drive away. I'll be checking out Delaware (CMHGourmand, I'm looking at you)

I can't say I've eaten at too many places too far out in awhile... or at least none that have really blown me away.
Oh, maybe a trip to CuCo's if you haven't been. Not sure if that was outside your range or not. ;)

I'm always up for a jaunt to Starliner.
In mid-motorcycle ride last weekend, I happened upon Ben & Joy's in Mt. Sterling. It's right at the intersection of 62 & 56. Great home-style buffetâ€¦$8 & all you can eat fried chicken, casseroles, green beans, desserts, pastaâ€¦I just wished I could have forced more food down!

Don't forget Hawa Russia and Smackies in Columbus Square as well. Fujiyama right across the street from it on Cleveland is my personal favorite of the "Japanese Steakhouse" places in town - though I'll admit that at least part of that is sentiment (been going there since I ordered off the kid's menu).
Thai Orchid up on Sawmill, for one of the top Thai contenders in the area.
Carfagna's Kitchen on Polaris for some good (casual) Italian.
Bayleaf on Polaris for some good Indian.
And others, I'm sure.

it's WAY outside Columbus, but if you're up around Akron, I'd highly recommend the Diamond Grill.

I was out there a few weeks ago and it looked open and really nice! I haven't been yet, though.

I had dinner at The Winds last night. Shared a few small plates that were delicious and well priced. Highly recommended if you are in the Yellow Springs area.
I work near Polaris, but have never been to Bay Leaf. Will give it a try soon.
Maca is excellent. We should try to get a group up there for dinner soon.
