Marble Cliff didn’t expect a bidding war when it invited cities other than longtime partner Grandview Heights to compete for its services. But when the Marble Cliff Village Council decided Monday night to give Grandview another chance to meet or beat Upper Arlington’s offer, it created just that — along with a standoff that has upset both sides.

Hilliard starts ball rolling toward sharing services

Columbus and some of its neighbors are optimistic that combining purchasing power and sharing services will save money — eventually. On Monday, Hilliard became the first suburb to move toward an agreement that would allow future sharing arrangements among the cities. Approved by Hilliard’s finance committee, the legislation will be heard next week by the full City Council.
