How is it racist, wedgewood is probably the most diverse apartment complex in Columbus. Only there do you see whites, somalis, american blacks, and mexicans living in harmony.

Me and about 6 of my friends are going downtown for Red White & Boom and we were wondering whats the best place for the after parties? Most DJ, Club, etc..
Come Celebrate Red, White & Boom downtown at COSI!
Details
July 3, 2012: Doors open at 4pm | Picnic Buffet 6 - 8pm | Event concludes 11:45pm
With both lawn and reserved table seating available, we offer the best view and experience in Columbus. All proceeds directly benefit COSI’s mission to motivate and inspire interest in the sciences through access to engaging and hands-on experiences.
This is my first year living in the Arena District area - can anyone give me an idea of what time I should plan to not move anywhere in my car? When does the traffic start to get bad?

There will be closures starting on Monday that will impact your way around. On Tuesday, you'll have to get in and out of the AD by traveling from the east down Spring - in fact, Spring will be the only good way in or out (Neil will be open, but utterly logjammed).
You'll notice a ton of people setting up in Arch Park - really, setting up all over, to save their spot for the day, for fireworks. This will start early on the 3rd.
If you need to get in or out, do it by no later than 3pm on the 3rd.
Red, White & Boom | More spectators to get bang-up views

Red, White & Boom will celebrate more than Independence Day this year. Bicentennial Park will be open for the first time since 2007, allowing for more spectator space and entertainment in the new pavilion. And, in recognition of the Columbus bicentennial, the fireworks show will conclude with a “ birthday surprise” that executive producer Mike Collins says won’t go unnoticed.

Three is a good rule of thumb, though you will probably be stopped police and asked where you are going after noon.
I amazingly made it from Burnham Square to the BP on Olentangy river road and back to get propane (I am very dumb and forgot to check that box on the pre-RWB party checklist) at 7pm in less than half an hour a couple of years ago, but I think that was a once in a million occurrence. Don't push your luck.
Thanks for the tips, all, that helps give me an idea what to expect. I'm going to make sure I'm battened down for the day on the 3rd!
Saw a lot of people out tonight fencing off their spots for Tuesday along the riverfront. Is it just me, or does it seem a bit early for that?

If it's really that easy, what the heck, do it in March.
I was driving up Northwest Blvd. on Friday and people were roping off space for a parade on Wednesday. People need lives.

Yes sir, it does seem a tad early. I could see claiming a spot on the day of, but 2 or 3 days in advance?
I feel like driving down there and removing the spikes and ropes.... there was a group at comfest sitting next to us that tried to rope off a space. They got pissy with secrurity when asked to remove the ropes. I am going to bring a kids playhouse down to RWB tonight and live in it until the fireworks... my space!
Via Dispatch:
Reminds me of the people on my street who place saw horses on the street to save parking for their Bmw's. Pure class.

I thought those were experimental plots to measure how many pounds of goose poop accumulate in a day. (I think the answer, for those spots, is somewhere around 43 pounds.)

They were checking the wrong side of the river then. There were at least 200 geese on the steps by COSI last night. Disgusting...
