Does anyone know anything about the shooting that occurred on Broad Street after RW&B?
I saw the blood was still there yesterday.
There was a shooting at Club Ice the night of RW&B but I didn't see anything about something happening on Broad Street.
Where did you hear this? And are you sure it was blood? Sounds unlikely that something like that would happen with nothing reported in the local news, and no cleanup after 3 days.
I don't know why clubs hire cops around here. They never do shit about anything that happens. I witnessed a shooting downtown and had about 3 bullets in my truck from the gun used. The cops were more interested in sticking their finger in the bullet holes of my chevy than taking any kind of notes or police report. I seriously think our crime rates would look way worse/real if the police would actually do their job and not act so numb to reality!
I also rode through that area shortly after boom when traffic was once again allowed access. Police didn't have anything taped off and no cars were finishing reports etc...
On my way home. The Ice shooting had the police buzzing about like their hive had been pummeled.
Not surprised in the least. Never been there, never will.
Not surprised about the shooting. It's Club Ice for crying out loud.
If you've never been there then being surprised or not is really only speculation.... (About an event that may not have happened?)
Try the lima beans! If you don't try them how will you really know you wouldn't like em? ;-)

ETA.. I'm referring to the broad street shooting question not club ice. (Club ice and all prior bars in that location have a history of shootings. Therefore you don't need to attend in order to...etc.) Just to clarify
I witnessed some interesting police "tactics" after the Boom.
We were sitting @ the corner of Nationwide Blvd. near the parking garage waiting for the traffic in the garage to die down a bit.
Well the traffic wasn't moving fast enough for one lady, there is no light @ that intersection, so she decided to help things out a bit. She starts directing traffic, and not doing a very good job either. She was clearly intoxicated and making the intersection worse. Pedestrians were not paying attention to her when she told them to stop and were dogging the cars while she is motioning for the cars to keep on coming. Very dangerous. Well after a few minutes here come 3 cops and we thought well there's the end of that entertainment. But NOOOOOOOOO they just stood there and watched this cleary intoxicated woman direct traffic out of the Nationwide garage. I couldn't beleive they didn't say a thing to her. Nada, it's like they didn't even see her. No they were all too busy flirting with all the chics walking down the street.
We're all like WTF drunk lady is about to get some pedestrians killed and the cops totally ignored her, so they can hit on the hotties?
yeah, it was definately real blood. i work out at the ACC, and you could see blood handprints, and they medics left their rubber gloves and bag for the sterile instruments.
I haven't seen anything about it anywhere, so i was wondering if it got swept under the rug...
if you are downtown it is right in front of the building to the east of the ACC, 150 East Broad.
i can post photos, but i'm not sure how to do a *spoiler* for this board.
wait till rib fest..
I was at a party in Franklinton and we had cops directing traffic until the roof of Vets caught fire and then all of the cops vanished for about 30 minutes at the height of the exiting traffic. Needless to say it was a total clusterf$#k for a bit. We just sat back and watched being that it made no sense to try and drive home in all of the chaos. Someone claimed that there was a shooting in Franklinton as well but I'm not sure if that is true. There was a lot of helicopter action over one spot at the time. Anyone have info on it?
I don’t think its fair to say that rib fest has that reputation.. Just my opinion but I don’t think I heard of any major incidence at rib fest. I can't say the same for Latino fest.
I also understand that CPD normally has 500 officers for RW&B but that was reduced to 200 for 2009. I wonder what precedence this will send for future RW&B's. Will the city continue with the reduced staffing now that we got through it with minimal issues or will they have maximum staffing for just in case scenario's? How much value is added with additional officers?
I wonder if this was/is part of a planned strategy by the CPD to sort of make their case about the need for the tax increase?
On the radio waves i heard about the shooting, and i also heard that a suspect (with a gun) was arrested stuck in traffic in one of the parking garages. I was not listening that closely and am unsure if it was the suspect in that shooting or a second incident that occurred about the same time.
OK, i'm gonna post the photos i took on my phone, so if you are queasy, don't look down...
