We went to Sherman's and enjoyed the fireworks very much. I also got some entertainment value out of watching the crush of traffic leaving downtown. At one point some impatient drivers tried to bypass the line of waiting cars on McDowell by going the wrong way up the opposite lane... they got their comeuppance when a fire engine had to get through!
We drove up Broad Street close to midnight. The litter was appalling. The few trash receptacles we saw were overflowing, which left the rest of the garbage to blow all over the sidewalks and streets -- and down into the river. Columbusites need to learn to pack out.Perhaps Red, Whitetrash and Boom should be run by volunteers instead of privately funded. Bet the streets would have been clean.
Yeah after leaving Sherm's place rode my bike up broad to tiptop dodging all of this mess and one cooler and a broken lawn chair. I've almost volunteered to help out in clean up several times in the past years knowing the process for clean up. It is amazing how fast they get this cleaned up once traffic is out of the way and it is safer for the volunteers and staff to aid in clean up! Kudos to the clean up crews!
With out constant crews to pick up like at comfest to empty bins, with that many people it is almost impossible to get through the crowd with walking a bike let alone a golf cart or any style of cart to put the trash bags into.
And people are just not as into litter prevention as we would like!
Oh THANKS! Sherm for having me over and yes it was a great view!
Nice putting a couple more faces to CU posters.

I shot a bottle rocket out of my mouth. Good times.I didn't remember that until just now!
Thanks for the pro tip that you are supposed to kinda let go of those when they are launching...i held that first one super tight...ow burny hand.I thought it would go without saying that you should let go of the thing once flames started shooting out of it, but then again, I'm obviously no paragon of firework safety. To your credit, you dropped it pretty quickly when it exploded.
Well clearly I hadn't played with those before. Hi...I am doofus.
Sherm's roof rocked as always though...
thanks everyone who stopped by and helped out. even with the arm all slinged up i still had a wonderful time. i cant believe how dirty my floor is. i too heard that the trash was unbelievable on broad st.i was getting phone calls after folks had left.
p.s. i want my doorknob back.....
the subaquatic fireworks were pretty neat!

Thanks for hosting such a killer party! I had a freaking blast! Although it turns out I did burn the shit out of my face. Guess I deserved that one though.
are you ok ?
thanks sherm for the great party as always! the view was great this year, the wind worked in our favor. i love that even with one good arm sherm was still setting off bottle rockets:D
Sherm - perfect location for RW&B. i hope this is an annual event for ya.
blammo - they are called BOTTLE rockets for a reason, not HAND rockets....haha
I watched from the Brewery District Kroger. The funniest/weirdest thing I saw was families packing up and leaving right when the fireworks started. I assume to "beat the traffic". Would suck to be one of those kids. "well kids, the fireworks are about to start, get in the car."
Man, as far as "Firework Nutshots" are concerned, I'd hardly classify that one as a "Fail".
