The Kroger on Chambers Road took away the recycling bins. Does anyone know of any others near the Grandview Area? I really wish they wouldn't make it so hard to recycle.

The site is down for now, but I'd recommend you check Swaco.org in a bit. They have lists, maps and other info on Franklin County recycling.

Wow that's terrible! They were always full but maybe that was the problem.

Goodale Park might be the closest for SWACO general recycling?
If you need the paper recycling bins, they have those at both the elementary and high schools in Grandview.

They are still in the parkinglot, they just moved them for construction.

the 4-5 bins at the Kroger on High and King in the Short North also disappeared last week. i wonder if SWACO and Kroger had a contract that ended?

Remove in Feb - construction in June? I wonder what's really going on. Maybe combination of contract renewal date and impending construction?
Major PITA to not have those bins.

The site is still down. I tried to log on today as well. When I called them in the past they were very accommodating.
They've been known to remove bins that have a lot of industrial waste (doors, aluminum siding) and household goods (dressers, stuffed animals). It's shocking to see what people put in them from time to time.
*Edit* Site is back up now.
A quick call to SWACO about these few locations may remedy the situation if you are interested.Posted 2 years ago # -
They had moved them to the edge of the former Blockbuster, but they said they have removed them from the site now due to construction.

Anyone know what is going in place of that strip mall (which needed to go!)?
Kroger's (@ Chambers) is getting renovated? Or are they going to bulldoze it too?
The ones by Goodale Park are always full.
Some of the local schools have a container or two, such as the one near 5th and Neil but that one is always full too!

if you know the pickup schedule then there is always room. the one by my house picks up either Tuesday night or Wed day. I always take the bin by there on Weds and it is always empty. Most Columbus Schools have a bin behind them.

There's also paper bins on Michigan, south of First Ave. Goodale must pick up Mon or Tuesday. I never have a problem unless I wait until the weekend.

Well, thats better than what was there before. I always rack up Kroger gas reward $ but never use it so this may be useful...

The row of bins at the Meijer on Sawmill is frequently so overloaded that stuff is piled in front of them. It would help a lot if people had the sense to fold their cardboard boxes flat.
Nothing like a completely empty bin, when a big wine bottle hits the bottom. BANG

They just took our nearest recycle bin station away (Home Depot off of Cleveland Ave.) When I checked the website almost all of the new locations are elementary schools. Weird.
