i'm going to nyc at the end of the month & had minimal success record shopping last time at dance tracks and then satellite in the east village. my favorite record store so far is gramaphone in chicago, with a place in toronto whose name escapes me in 2nd. looking for a place with club/funky & progressive house.

I heard gramaphone changed locations. I've only been to the old one..as small as a closet...but yeah, it is a tight place.

it just moved down the street... still near clark & halsted, i think. right by midwest stereo, which is convenient. and a jamba juice, perfect for hangovers.

love me some jamba juice...I was just in Chi-town 3 weeks ago, but didn't get a chance to go to the record store...but I had me some jamba juice...and Uncle Julio's La Hacienda...great food.

There are almost as many Jamba Juices in Chicago as there are Starbucks.

ok - i LOVE jamba & am seriously distressed that columbus doesn't have one (or 6) yet...

the only one i know of is satellite and of course virgin...believe it or not, virgin in times square actually has a decent selection of vinyl and a HUGE collection of good cd's. you should check it out if you're in times square.

yeah, matt got a bunch from virgin last time... problem was they didn't have any listening booths.

yeah, that was the only things that sucked about the vinyl part of the store...but the cd selection is RIDICULOUS. they had so many mix cd's i was seriously there for like 3 hours and i could have spent the whole day there easily. it sucks that there are no stores in ohio like that with electronic music...we're just so far behind it's crazy.
