I'd really love to see a corporate donor step up to save these centers.

yeah, I want SOMEONE ELSE to fix this ASAP as well! Now if they only read this thread...
Andrew Hall had some insightful commentary regarding this type of thing on another thread...

I'm, personally, already working on a project to save them. My plea was more of a hopeful bat signal. Does anyone know what symbol Les Wexner responds to when shone in the night sky? A brassier?

While I agree with Andrew's points made that sitting around talking doesn't do a lot of good, it's still a wise idea to discuss plans before taking action.
People are allowed to talk about stuff here.

I'd love to see corporate donors be able to donate to anything...

It is easier to ask forgiveness than permission.
My point was not to cease talking, but to get doing commensurate with it.
And talking is a lot more fruitful if there is more substance than wishful thinking behind it. For example in this case - can a corporation make a donation that funds a rec center, legally? If the answer is no, then any conversation heading in that direction is wasted.
I would like to see more 'tried this and here is why it failed' (when it does) type of dialogues and postings. Brainstorming is great, but it should produce something even if it doesn't work. The lessons learned will then be invaluable to the next person.
