Reasonably Priced Dog Grooming?

Just got a major case of sticker shock when I took my dogs in to get them groomed today and found that when I picked them up tonight, the groomers price had gone up 25% from the last time I went a couple of months ago ($125 for 2 dogs before tip).

So, I'm thinking it's time to change groomers. We have a Beagle and a Shih Tzu, and just need the basics done (bath, teeth brushed, nails trimmed, anal glands expressed and shave down for the Shih Tzu, and all of the above (replacing the shave down with anti-shed shampoo instead) for the Beagle. Doesn't matter if it's mobile or walk in, just looking for somewhere that will take good care of my dogs without me needing to spend more than I spend on myself, LOL.

We go to PetCo at Lennox. Neither of my dogs requires hair trimming, but it gives me a break from washing them myself. I've used other professional groomers over the years, and I think PetCo is very reasonable.

I take my dog to All About the Dogs in German Village. They usually charge $40 for a medium size dog. I'm not entirely sure if everything that you mentioned was included... but you could check.

Hope your shih tzu is more cooperative than mine...

That beer next to the fur was one of about 20 that it took for me not to lose my mind during haircut day.

I agree. They do a great job with my dogs, and I think even when I got them shaved for the summer it was $40.

mega thread revival.

I wanted to make people aware if they are not, and give a shout out to a place I wet to for the first time yesterday with our very dirty puppy.

Woof and Suds is on first ave. in Grandview and offers lots of services. We went for the DIY dog was which was 15 bucks and came with soap/ear cleaning/towels/blow dry/dog cologne. Well worth the scratch in my opinion because trying to do it in our bathtub in a pain. They have raised wash bays (guess that's what you call it) with a clasp that hooks your dog in so it can't run/jump out. The owners were there and were very friendly. I'm not sure we'll ever use them for anything other than the DIY wash, but I know I will be back for that.

i dont go to petsmart anymore,because a girl working there called my dog disgusting for humping a cat that was there
